SimPoolTech IGSD-H Winterizing Skimmer Plug In-Ground Pool 7 9/16 Inch Width x 5 5/8 Inch Height

Didn't know we needed this! Just happened to see this when looking for something else for the pool. Have had the pool for 30 years and never had one of these. Makes closing the pool easier. Fits well and as pool level rises during winter/spring it keeps the anti freeze in and water out of the skimmer box. Was easy to install and worth the money.

Excellent fit like a glove

This worked okay for our pool. However we did notice that it is not waterproof. We placed something on top of it as well to help protect the pool skimmer. I do like the look of it though and it does fit nicely.

Does what it says it will do

Purchased last fall for winterizing in ground pool. Removed the winter pool cover last week and found that the skimmer was full of water and this plug was dislodged in the skimmer opening. This product fit really nice so I don't understand why it failed. Thank goodness I did not suffer any freezing damage. Also, my neighbor had purchased one for his above ground pool and found it floating around in the pool when he uncovered. Would not recommend.

I had a crack in my skimmer because water was allowed in from the pool and diluted the antifreeze. This now prevents that happening and the skimmer has just antifreeze in it for winter closure.

Using on a Doughboy Pool weir. Very tight fit but still leaks past the plug at the corners. I've tried pushing it down to seat it better. The leak is slow but the pool will drain down over time. Was worth a try but not surprised that it still leaks.

It does work, but it's absolutely not worth $20. There's about 1.5" of foam covered by 1/16" of vinyl plastic. A more reasonable price would be around $10 or less.
