Ableton Live 10 Power!: The Comprehensive Guide

As a noob to Ableton, I wanted a quick physical reference guide and this fits the bill perfectly. Clear, concise, good explanations and relevant diagrams where needed. As I was switching DAWs, from Reason to Ableton, I at least had a knowledge of terms and some expectations. As someone starting Ableton as there first ever DAW, it would still be a worthwhile purchase, familiarity with DAW jargon would eventually kick in. I’ll use this time and time again, I already have!

Only a few chapters in and have a learned so much. Have been using Ableton past few years and while I know the different areas, this book is great as it actually explains what each area does very clearly. No real jargon here (and if there is any he explains it). Defnitely consider this as the bible now as will undoubtedly be referring to it for years to come.

Fantastic book, well written and a great insight into both Live 10's new features and also the DAW itself if you are just starting out. The writing style is engaging and not at all dry. This goes a long way to help if you are a beginner and are already overwhelmed by the various DAW capabilities and don't want to also struggle through pages of dull text that you can scarcely comprehend. I would recommend this product as a perfect extension to Live's manual and built in tutorials.

Ableton Live Power books have been around for some time. If you are a newbie then they are a great reference if you don’t like to read Ableton’s PDF’s manual and lack the touch of a paper. There are a few gems for pro’s but nothing you can learn or get from the manual. I got this as a reference after many years of Live useage for a newly acquired Push 2 and to be honest it’s disappointing. Very basic overview of Push functionality and not a lot more than you could get from the manual. Overall, if you can get away with the main Ableton PDF manual I’d personally not invest.

Bought for my daughter who has the full program and wants to be a sound producer/engineer one day. She thinks the book is awesome!!!

I love this book but I was really disappointed that the advertised downloadable material is not actually available. Multiple attempts to contact the author via the web site shown in the book have gone unanswered. As someone brand new to Ableton, having this content to practice with was a really important reason I purchased the book.

I have been using Ableton for 8 years an this book helps clarify any things I didn’t already learn and also better understand things I thought I knew! 100% worth it!

Although I haven't finished this yet, and am not sure I will, it is perfect as I was hoping to use it. Anytime I need to reference something or figure out a new step I'm working through, this manual is my go to aside from youtube. It's thorough, comprehensive and easy to read text indicates why it's the go to source for learning Ableton. Grateful this book is available outside of classrooms.
