These Goovilla shelf brackets mention their "surface is covered with a thick layer of black frosted coating," but what they don't mention is that they are powder-coated in what has become somewhat of an industry-standard, quality finish for metal surfaces. They are of a decent enough gauge to suspend most any common load required, and are unobtrusive and sleek. Their smooth eggshell black seems to complement wood tones, especially.

PROS: Nice black finish, 3 mounting holes for wall, solid thick steel, if screwed into studs, they can support a considerable amount of weight, so good for garage and storage areas shelving too. Includes all necessary fasteners, wall anchors.and small screws for underside of shelf fastening. CONS: Best for 2x10's , but will work on most other shelves if wide enough, you may need more of them depending on your shelf size/length. Overall great value.

I wanted a floating shelf for my kitchen to make mid-sized appliances easier to access. These brackets are supporting a 4ft shelf holding my toaster, air fryer, and crockpot with no issues. Installation was simple, and I appreciate that they're not the ugly triangular type of shelf bracket I was seeing a lot of in stores.

Heavy duty and nice finish!

These brackets are strong thick steel! I have no doubt they'll hold the 160 lb rated capacity. I don't use them for that much weight, but they are STRONG! Great product, good value!

These brackets are very heavy duty and look great. I gave it 4 stars because of the poor design. These brackets will not hold their own weight, (much less a shelf and other items) unless they are screwed into a stud. (Duh—that was my expectation going into it). However what I didn’t realize is that the holes for the screws on these brackets are so far apart that you have to pick one side to go into the stud (you can’t get all 4 screws into the stud as the standard width of a stud is 2 inches). The screw holes should be top and bottom, not left and right. This would make the product able to hold more weight.

We have a old cat ramp (to a cat door) in the basement that came with the house that I've been wanting to replace for awhile now. I wanted to put in something that was as functional as it is stylish. Enter these brackets. These brackets are very sturdy and come with a lot of hardware, it even comes with spares and a little level, which is greatly appreciated. They come with both drywall and cement wall anchors. I'm sure if you drilled into studs these would hold the claimed 160lbs. And speaking of studs, that's where these lost a star for me. While these are very well made and sturdy, the screw holes are set on either side of the bracket and they are spaced apart far enough that you can only get one set into a stud. While this isn't the end of the world, it makes it so you can put two screws into studs and have to use the wall anchors for the other two screws. As someone else mentioned, it would be nice if the screw holes where in the middle one above the other. I realize that would reduce it being connected by 2 screws instead of 4, I just prefer not to use wall anchors if I don't have too. I also want to note that these aren't truly floating shelves, depending on what height you put these at, you will see the brackets. But, like I said, it's not a huge problem and these are working out very nicely.

I have not installed these yet, but I do give them high marks. Why? First, I was surprised by how heavy the brackets are. Quite substantial. Second, I tried to bend them using all my might and could not. I have no doubt that they are sturdy. It's clear that there are mounting screws included inside the black wrapper, and the instructions indicate that I can either conceal the wall plate sections (by putting them behind the shelf thickness against the wall) or allow them to be seen below the wall plate sections. I have no doubt that I could use some solid wood quite easily as my shelf and still be able to load the shelf with heavy items (provided I mounted the screws into a stud). I am very impressed and pleased with this item.
