Extremely comfortable around the ears, nice sound also, happy customer.

Switched from a Hifiman Edition XS to these due to the right ear in those rattling. Sound quality is absolutely on point, I expect if you're considering these you'll already know that. Only slight gripe is they can be a bit creaky when moving due to the plastic quality. The most comfortable headphones I've ever had especially for a big head. Incredibly light. Very nice cable functionality which can be plugged into either side, especially with the plus upgrade longer cable, which makes this suitable for a lot of setups. Pretty expensive though.

Excellent headphones. Very comfortable fit. Benefits from using a good source, such as a standalone DAC. You're unlikely to see it's capability simply pairing it with a headphone socket on a PC or phone. Ideal if you want to hear music with all the detail as intended by the creators.

After seeing people rave about this headset, i wanted to try it, i own a hd598 for almost 10 years and it's been amazing. The headset in question, is very light and the fact that it is plastic... although reinforced... it's scary to think long term. The sound quality is amazing, the hd 598 has a bit of "mush?" where things all sort of colide at moments, for example, running in a game with loud background audio and stepping in water, it all combines whereas on the hd 490 you can clearly hear both sources. The sound stage is also incredible so for FPS games, it's amazing. Unboxing, this is where my first concern was, watching all the reviews who i believe are US/Germany and what not, i expected to unbox them and wear them, instead i was met with creaking, the earcups have a U join made out of the same plastic material and the bit that inserts into the earcup, seems to have quality control issues, just touching that bit will cause creaks and it's transferred into your ear when moving your head or talking while wearing them. It's a shame because if not for the creaks that can happen multiple times in minutes... or be an hour apart, they are super comfy, even with glasses, you don't realise they're on your head at all and they clamp really well. Having the headphones on my head, and grabbing each earcup gently, if i push on the ear cup so it goes inwards at the top, which is how they're designed... they creak, yes i don't sit there pushing on my earcups in real use but i am getting creaking in normal use and this proves that the design is flawed or it has to be some UK batch issue. I have tried MULTIPLE of these headsets too, months ago i tried 2 or 3 pairs elsewhere because Amazon did not have them, then when amazon got them finally i tried both the hd 490 pro and the plus version, i can say, the plus version had was less issues making me think it is transit vibrations effecting the plastic joins... because the packing in the box is non existant and the plus version come in a hard carry case.

En pocas palabras son unos audífonos muy muy buenos (y probablemente los más cómodos que he probado hasta ahora en mi vida). Aquí va mi pequeña reseña. OJO: NO SOY UN AUDIOFILO y tampoco tengo el mayor conocimiento técnico, por lo que intentaré explicarlo como mejor se me da. Sin embargo, me gusta mucho probar audífonos y le he agarrado el gusto a probar diversos audífonos como los Sennheiser HD599, HD660S2, IE300 e IE600. También comerciales como los QC35II, AirPods Max y WH1000XM4; aunque de esta gama "comercial" me he ido alejando y actualmente solo uso AirPods Pro de segunda generación como audífonos de uso diario fuera de casa y los IE600 para escuchar con mi iFi Go Bar. Materiales de construcción y conectividad: Los audífonos son sumamente ligeros, se sienten bien construidos, a mi parecer son como unos híbridos entre la serie 600 y 800. Ligeros y evidentemente de copa abierta. La entrada de cable es un mini-XLR de 4 pines, la ventaja de este tipo de conector es que permite la posibilidad de utilizar estos auriculares con amplificadores balanceados (el cable se debe adquirir por separado). Comodidad: En términos de ajuste, los HD 490 PRO tienen una clamp force muy baja (mucho menor que la serie 600 recién sacados de caja, soy propietario de unos HD660S2 también), lo que los hace muuuuy cómodos desde el primer uso. La altura se puede ajustar fácilmente y las copas se pueden mover, no solo eso, sino que también se pueden girar e inclinarse lo suficiente para garantizar un buen ajuste en cualquier tamaño de cabeza. Los audífonos traen dos almohadillas: de velour y de otra tela (no recuerdo el nombre del tipo de tela, pero es como jersey)... así que a mi parecer las de velour son mucho más cómodas (y son las que trae instaladas). Las almohadillas ofrecen suficiente espacio para las orejas =) Sonido: siempre algo relativo y subjetivo. ¿Para audiofilos, para productores o para mezclar? La verdad es que depende. A mí, me gustan mucho. Los puedo comparar con los Sennheiser HD 660S2 y estos tienen mayor escena sonora. Los HD 490 PRO ofrecen un sonido neutral (kinda). Con las almohadillas "Producing", los audífonos tienen una excelente extensión de bajos para unos auriculares abiertos, solo cae en frecuencias muy bajas, proporcionando golpes y impacto en las líneas de bajo y golpes. De hecho, probando, con la canción Tank! de Seatbelts, se escucha súper bien el golpe de la línea de bajo; también cuando escuchas "Good News" de Mac Miller, durante el segundo 2 al inicio de la canción, escuchas ese fuerte bajo, sin problemas, lo cual me sorprendió bastante para ser unos audífonos abiertos. Al escuchar algo más rítmico como L'amour toujours se escucha la voz muy bien, con una excelente escena sonora y separación de los diferentes componentes de la canción. Al escuchar Chihiro de Billie Eillish (que tiene tremendo bajo), también se escucha poderoso, y la voz de ella se escucha muy bien, centrada (ligeramente a la derecha, pero eso es mi percepción), se escucha excelente las voces de fondo. También probé con la canción Exile de Taylor Swift con Bon Iver y las voces se escuchan muy bien. Aquí, quizá sí me gusta más la serie 600 debido a que las voces son mucho más presentes, pero la escena sonora es muy buena, al escucharlos no es como si estuvieran muy cerca de ti, si no que está algo hacia atrás. Al escuchar la interpretación de Dance of the Sugar del Cascanueces de Tchaikovsky, alcanzo a escuchar perfectamente el posicionamiento de los diferentes músicos, así mismo sucede con The Rite of Spring de Stravinsky. Luego, me fui a algo instrumental moderno, como No Time for Caution de Hans Zimmer, se escucha perfectamente bien las percusiones, así como el timing, te puedes imaginar el posicionamiento de los intérpretes. La banda sonora del Señor de los Anillos es una delicia escucharla aquí. Finalmente, escuchando Keane, su álbum Hopes and Fears 20, puedo escuchar claramente la batería, los teclados, las voces de fondo y la voz de Tom Chaplin de forma concisa. Comparado con los HD660S2, si quieres disfrutar más de la voz y un bajo más "sucio", probablemente te guste más los 660S2 que estos. La canción Heavenly de CAS, puedo escuchar perfectamente el rasgueo de la cuerda del bajo, el teclado y la voz de Greg bastante cerca de mi oreja, igual sutilmente la guitarra que empieza en el segundo 56 o como se desliza el dedo en la cuerda de la guitarra en el 1:20. En pocas palabras: detallado, excelente separación instrumental y soundstage, buenos graves (sin llegar a ser del nivel de audífonos cerrados, claro está). Las voces no son tan íntimas, pero se siente adecuadamente la textura de las mismas, y los agudos no son estridentes. Es una delicia escuchar rock, jazz y trance con estos audífonos. Los medios y agudos están bastante equilibrados, aunque carecen de detalle en los medios-altos y su respuesta en agudos puede ser inconsistente, supongo que depende mucho de la sujeción (ya que no aprietan mucho la cabeza, a algunos les puede parecer incisivo). Comparación con Sennheiser HD 660S2 (que son mis otros audífonos). En comparación con los Sennheiser HD 660S2, los HD 490 PRO ofrecen una mayor precisión en los bajos y una mejor comodidad general (aunque los 660S2 tienen muy muy buena pegada, así que tal vez para géneros más modernos sean más fáciles de escuchar). Los HD 660S2 tienen una respuesta más detallada en los medios, así que si tu gusto va por música acústica y que sea más íntima la presentación, los 660S2 son mejores. En cuanto a respuesta en graves, los HD490Pro me gustan más, aunque los 660S2 no se quedan atrás. Amplificación: Los puedo amplificar bien con un Zen DAC 3. Aunque seguramente escalarían excelente por la salida balanceada. También lo he usado con una Focusrite de cuarta generación y se escuchan bien; aunque me gusta más usarlo con el Zen DAC 3. Videojuegos: Sé que a muchos les interesará tener unos audífonos muy buenos también para gaming competitivo. Mi estilo de juegos es más single player, por lo que lo probé con juegos como Elden Ring, Game of War Ragnarök, The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom. Es una joya poder jugar a estos títulos con este nivel de precisión, puedes saber dónde están los enemigos o percatarte de algunos detalles que costarían un poco más con otros audífonos. A pesar de que soy single player, también probé jugar Halo Infinite y el nivel de precisión donde ubicas a los enemigos es bastante buena, tiene adecuada tridimensionalidad, escucho claramente las pisadas de los enemigos y puedo ubicar rápidamente y aplicar un "ninja". Me ha servido mucho para jugar estas partidas. Puntos negativos: No traen cable balanceado, estaría genial que los trajeran para utilizar con diversos dispositivos. Siento que son muy caros, quizá si costaran un poquito menos (quizá 100 dólares menos), sería una compra 10/10. Conclusión: Son unos audífonos por lo que estoy muy contento haber adquirido. Me gustan poquititito más que los HD660S2 (los cuales fueron mis primeros audífonos de la serie 600). Siento que estos audífonos pueden ser un par de auriculares todo en 1 (gaming, música, producir). Forget gaming headsets; this is a true audiophile headset that delivers immersion like nothing else! First off, the build quality and comfort are outstanding. These are lightweight open-back headphones (just 260g without cable) with incredibly ergonomic design – no pressure points, natural ventilation, and the most comfortable fit I've ever had for long sessions. I can game for hours without any fatigue, hot ears, or clamp pain. The Plus version comes with two sets of washable earpads (producing and mixing), an extra long cable, additional headband padding, and a sturdy carry case – everything feels premium and built to last. Sound-wise, paired with the Schiit GUNNR (which provides plenty of clean power and those awesome Width/Presence controls for soundstage tweaking), these headphones are a revelation for gaming.
