I went on a bit of a journey looking for the perfect pocket tape, and the Workpro keychain model is pretty good. Metric AND Imperial, which for me is a requirement not met by many otherwise nice tapes (I sometimes create models to 3d print, and for this use case, metric is much easier to work with). Lock works fine, tension is good, numbering visibility is fine (although one side only), and tape itself is sufficiently stiff to measure the max 6ft distance. I wouldn't recommend this as a keychain tape, since the keychain connection is both unnecessarily long (imo) and flimsy. It is easy to remove with a pair of pliers if one wishes. They're a bit big/bulky for every day pocket carry. I have wound up with a (sadly, much smaller, non-locking) 3 ft tape that I have on me at all times. This didn't wind up being my perfect pocket tape, but given the value for cost, I don't regret the purchase at all. I've wound up scattering these through various drawers in my house so I can almost always find one quickly. I also used one as a decoy to keep my nicer tapes away from my youngest (who would proudly tell you that he's 5). It actually seems to be a pretty good choice for a kid's tape -- he hasn't broken it yet (it is pretty snappy though and could pinch or whip, so one would want to watch out). Overall, a great "backup" tape, which I wouldn't be mad at if I had to use it, but not my first choice for pocket carry (too bulky) or more involved measuring tasks (not long enough, want at least 16 feet).

I bought the 3-pack of these tape measures for less than $4 each. I also have one of the 6 foot Craftsman tape measures that currently costs $5 each. I like the Workpro tape measures better since they are just as accurate and they show both inches and centimeters. Craftsman is inches only. The Workpro tape measure is a little wider, but it still fits comfortably in the pocket of my work pants.

These were a huge hit in my kids stockings! My kids are 8, 6, and 3. The older two have been walking around measuring things since Christmas. They will also come in handy for school lessons. They are a nice quality, the lock is strong so it doesn’t snap back and hurt little fingers and easy enough to use for my 3 year old! Definitely recommend.

These tape measures are adorable and compact, yet surprisingly sturdy. They've held up well and performed flawlessly—definitely a handy little tool!

Very handy for hanging in the barn for quick use.

Perfect . It even has a clip so I could travel with it. Use it many times in stores. And it’s just the right size. It is very adorable and there were four in a package so I could keep them in different places.

Super handy item. I keep it with my car keys. It helps when you go shopping and need the dimensions of an item you want.

If you want a small tape measure this is great. Sturdy construction and it makes a great stocking filler.
