nice item but not as easy to make work as some.
This is not an expensive "ring" door bell. Its a very expensive Ring door bell. (I did not mean to pick on a particular product Ring, Hello, Skybell, Wyze are all about the same in use.) The big difference here is the ability to open an electric door and POE power. It has a nice finish and looks like a quality product. The set up is not so simple, and it will take an hour or so to make it work, and the flush box requires a pretty accurate cutting of its hole.

I just built a new smart home, and originally had the Leviton Doorstation
I just built a new smart home, and originally had the Leviton Doorstation, which was originally built as an intercom and adapted as a smart doorbell - but as it turns out it wasn't very smart. So I got rid of the Leviton and was considering the Ring Pro. Unfortunately, you can't connect the Ring to your NVR and have to pay to have recordings in the cloud. So then I found the Doorbird. After connecting the Doorbird I was very happy with the way it looks; the picture quality is good, not great; the sound quality both at the Doorbird and on my Samsung S8 plus is satisfactory, but not as good as it should be. I wired and powered directly with a Cat 6 cable, and was able to hook it up to my Speco 4K NVR camera system (although it is not very straightforward and took me a couple of hours). I am on Charter Spectrum internet and have a 100 mbps connection. I like the fact that it takes a picture when it detects motion or when someone presses the doorbell button. The app is easy to use and so far has worked flawlessly. I was able to hook it up to my standard doorbell, but it must send some sort of signal randomly because the doorbell dings every once in a while when there is nobody at the door, and there was no other notification. I still haven't figured that out. Overall, I like the Doorbird D2101V. It looks good, records all video to my NVR at no cost, and seems to be reliable so far. I wish the sound quality was better and that the doorbell wouldn't ring randomly, but I'm going to try a different transformer for the doorbell and see if that solves the problem. I would recommend the Doorbird D2101V.

Avoid
I bought the DoorBird IP Video Door Station D2101V for my home on March 2020. It looked well-built and had many options for indoor functions that appear to extend to many rooms in my home. All in, I bought the outdoor door station, a wireless doorbell, three (3) indoor stations and stands for around $2,500. While this product was on the expensive side, I wanted a quality product to hang on the front of my home, and since is was German made, had high expectations on the manufacture of the product. Once delivered and I inspected the product, the build quality of the unit seemed very good. It's not made of cheap plastic, but of quality stainless steel with a very solid enclosure. I was extremely pleased and excited with my initial purchase. Then I started setting up the product. I installed the main door station using POE with a fixed IP address using the android application. I watched the video instruction and followed the included instruction. I also installed all the indoor door stations with POE as well using DHCP. While the instructions were mostly helpful, the setup process was difficult and not user friendly. My overall experience: 1) Software is not user friendly and borders on unusable. 2) To setup a device on a local network, you must use the included certificate or passport (for security). Very awkward. You MUST keep this passport document if you ever want to update or reinstall any door bird device. If you lose it, you can never get the device back online. Luckly, I kept all my original packing material. 3) Door Camera is not very good compared to Ring or GBF Electronics 4) Updates are difficult to apply 5) The system comes with a two-year warranty. The warranty and technical support are worthless. After seven (7) months, the main door station suddenly quit working. I pulled it off the wall and confirmed the POE port was working. The main unit was unresponsive. I emailed Door Bird technical support with my serial number and requested support. I got absolutely no response from the vendor. I emailed a couple more times and finally got a terse email that I needed to reinstall the device using direct power, reconfigure the device using Wi-Fi and then call them back before they could proceed. I did as they asked, unit was unresponsive. I emailed them again but still no response. Decided to stop wasting time and money on this product/company. For the price to replace the single base station (~$800 USD), I found a competing product that was also POE, easily installable on my local area network with good mobile software that replaced my entire setup. I almost NEVER do reviews, but my experience with Door Bird was so awful and EXPENSIVE... drove me to write this review. In my opinion -- this is not a quality product, it's difficult to use and the support is terrible. I'm out over $2,500 for a system that does not work, and the vendor is unresponsive. Learn from my experience and steer clear of this product. Look at Ring or GBF Electronics for a video door bell/intercom system.

Good design except the button
I like the concept of the product but the button is so easy to break. Need to replace when it’s broken.

Huge disappointment all around
I'm going to keep this short because i'm super upset about paying so much money for a product that frankly looks great but lightyears behind the competition. I removed a Ring for this and built it into my custom driveway gate pillar. The video quality is super poor, audio works 50% of the time, mic will show on, you'll talk but the person outside cant hear anything. But the absolute worst part - that everyone else has been able to figure out except doorbird is the LAG!. So slow. I cant tell you how many times that by the time i get the app, camera and function up and running after getting the doorbell notification - the mail man or guest is long gone. At this point I use my Arlo as my default since it's so much faster. Oh also - just after 1 year, there's a blurry spot right at the center of the camera- google it, its a common problem and has nothing to do with cleaning lens. Honestly doorbird, either invest in tech or tell your shareholders your closing your doors because god damn you guys are WAY BEHIND! Oh and it's hardwired and power plugged in - not POE - and enterprise level network with over 250MBPS DL/175MBPS UP - So no excuses there!

Ideal for Amazon deliveries when i am out! Very well made and video image is excellent. Some issues though with audio quality and integrating to existing Phone systems.

Peccato
