Q: Hi there, if i'm a 46 inch chest and i expect to wear a hoody, t shirt and maybe another jumper under the jacket, should i order a 48 inch chest?

I am about a 45 chest and can get enough on underneath to stay warm outside in the winter. Underarm to underarm the xl measures 27'' so I think you will be ok. If you go up a size the arm length may increase. It's a really good coat. Don't know why these companies can't give more info on size?
