The chair is great. I've had a previous generation of this chair for years - very comfortable, highly adjustable and breathable. The issue is with the vendor. The chair was used, cleaned with simple green so it still reeks of it. The chair is missing a bracket that attaches the back support to the bottom the the back to keep it in place. The headrest does not hold is position when tilted upwards so it drops to its lowest forward level. The chair did not have any tags, pamphlets or manual so I could not verify that I received the proper size. It is smaller than the one I have on the seat part with the knee extending our much more then the current seat which indicates is a smaller then medium chair and likely uncomfortable after a few hours of sitting down due to the pressure on the leg below. Essentially I did not get what I ordered and the number of issues I see lead me to believe the seller (InscapeModern) is aware and does not care about quality. I just initiated the return so we'll see how that goes.

It only came with one loose cable that I was able to easily put where it belonged, thanks to the online forums and subforums that are dedicated to the praises Herman Miller. And that cable being "loose" was not a defect, it was perfectly easy to slot into place and may have just shipped like that by design, but don't take my word on it. After some months of sitting in it, I can understand perfectly the praises. I know that a chair that accounts for adjustability of every feature costs money to manufacture. Yet now that I've had a Herman Miller, I find myself asking every day... why don't all chairs do this! I will never be able to go back from individually adjusting the arms... having adjustable (and actually good) lumbar support... having head support. Some other reviews say that the headrest doesn't match the brand but I myself (5'4" for a reference point, if it matters) find it perfectly suitable for my needs. It hasn't been falling off, hindering my neck, or doing any witchcraft when I'm not looking. All in all, a solid chair 100% worth its price. I picked it up on Amazon for the fast shipping, convenience, and general Amazon policies. I have not regretted it. Though one must be very careful to sit in it in the way that it's intended. I naturally liked to shrimp or slump ... it was a habit that I had to consciously break to be able to reap the benefits of this chair.

Absolutely love this chair. It is so ergonomically sound and makes working at my desk a breeze. My only complaint is that the assembly instructions were incomplete, and I had to scour the Internet to figure out how to install the lumbar support as well as the headrest. Not difficult to assemble once I found the directions, but definitely not intuitive nor included in the package. That said, love the chair and glad I purchased it.

If you're thinking of buying this chair because it has a head rest, don't. It's not a Herman Miller head rest. It's a craptastic Chairorama head rest with no instructions. I looked up a video for how to install a head rest and it was immediately obvious that the one they installed in the video was a real Herman Miller and the one I paid for was not. If you look at the 4th picture you will see the Chairorama label on the head rest with a built in coat hanger(?) That falls off real easy. I finally got the thing on, but it doesn't have the clearance of a Herman Miller. It's more of a "between the shoulders rest" than a head rest, and only works on my neck if I scrunch down and lean way back to stare at the ceiling. Completely inferior junk. I'm sending this hot mess back. I will find a cheaper HM chair with no head support. Then I will look for a real HM head support separately. This is stupid.

Labeling at the bottom of the chair removed. Cannot find serial number. The back support only supports the sacrum and does not have any mid back support. Description on Amazon deceptive into making you think there is low back adjustability. I have purchased two other of these Aerons from Herman Miller at a higher cost but they always took care of me and sent me intact products. I called Herman Miller and they cannot support this chair or any chair purchased from Amazon. They specifically mentioned this seller. Buyer beware. The left arm flops and is loose and defective. Herman Miller told me to contact Amazon which I did and the two inquiries for repair/return have not been answered. Hope they anwer soon and take the chair back. I think next time buy direct from Herman Miller. More expensive perhaps but less headache. Look at pictures. looks like a used unit sold to me as brand new. Scratches and wear marks right out of the box. No labeling found in the entire chair so even Herman Miller could not ID the time and date of manufacture. Last photo show no labels on a supposedly new chair. Amazon, will you stand by your customers and speed up return?
