Too Many Pumpkins

We don’t celebrate Halloween. But we want something to read that’s festive and fun for the autumn season. This is perfect! It’s such a fun story with a heartwarming end. This is one that will be a classic!! Timeless. Beautiful illustrations. The kids loved it! Very entertaining. No mention of Halloween at all. It also has good science content (seeds growing) and pro-social skills.This copy of it is a good size and sturdy, quality pages and binding. I’m very pleased!!We read as a read aloud to the whole family. We have a 6 year old and a 2 year old. They both loved it! The 2 year old likes finding the cat on every page. The 6 year old liked lithe story’s plot. It’s one we will read for years to come. They won’t outgrow it anytime soon.

A wonderfully written story. This was a gift for a family members newest child who LOVES the color orange and of course pumpkins. This has been a timeless story that we've gifted to several generations of children and always receive such positive feedback about. Overall its a fun and wholesome story about a lady with as the title implies, too many pumpkins.

My daughter and I really enjoyed this story, and I look forward to pulling this out every autumn to read together. The story is so charming, a lady who detests pumpkins only to grow a field of them unknowingly. She manages to generously turn her unwanted pumpkins into all sorts of treats for her community around her. It’s a very good message about how sometimes the things in life we think we don’t like actually have meaning and value. There are sentiments of generosity, kindness, togetherness, supporting your neighbor, valuing farming, and learning how life can surprise us, and even change our minds. Such a good one, bravo to the author and illustrator!

This was the perfect book to begin Pumpkin Day in my 3rd grade classroom! The kiddos were engaged and excited to follow up with pumpkin carving and pumpkin painting.

This is such a cute book! I bought it for my granddaughter. I found it very engaging and a great book to "read aloud!"

What a super fun book!! The illustrations are so bright and lively and the story gave us a good talk about . . .the woman's industriousness, using past hardship to bless others, the blessing that came to her to help others and the blessing she was to others (community), or how we would have gotten the people to come to our house for pumpkin treats (Would be carve pumpkins like the lady or something else)? Glad I purchased!

This book is cute, great for fall and Halloween time. It was a little wordy for my 2.5 year old, the passages are long on each page and he had a hard time following the story but an older child would have a much easier time. The illustrations are cute, the art is very nice, and the story is fun. Overall happy with it but I would suggest it for older kids instead of younger ones.

Wonderfully written & illustrated! This book was recommended on a podcast, so I decided to purchase it for my kids. We love it! Teaches the reader that good can come from bad things that happen to us & that we can in turn bless others.
