You must make sure your ground is flat before starting. I had to dig out lumps, rocks and fill holes. I laid onto poached ground. Once I figured out to start in nearest left hand corner, work my way left to right, keeping the joining nobbles to the top and right on ever square , it was easy. Do one row at a time. The sloppy mud oozed through a certain amount, but I'm thoroughly impressed. They didn't scare the pony and she stayed on them instead of the mud of her own will. She's not shod and only 11.2hh so I'm not sure what a bigger, shod animal would do to them, but they are sturdy. Filling the holes with sand or grit may be a good idea to help take the weight.

Since my husband put these grids down in our front garden with the gravel we have had some really nice comments. Looks level and the gravel doesn't move even when a car is parked on it. Impressed and really pleased with it .

Went together easily, saves time

I wanted to cover unsightly concrete with gravel, and to be sure it wouldn't move about. This was easy to cut & fit, and allows water drainage underneath. It is pretty rigid, so I had to adapt where the concrete was uneven, but that was easy to do. I have an area of traditional driveway which I will do with the same stuff.
