Crimson Trace - Rail Master® : desertcart.co.uk: Sports & Outdoors Review: I like laser sights on my home defense guns and on my carry guns. They help to improve my shooting and in critical and stressful situations it just helps your confidence to know that you are targeting correctly. When accuracy counts you have to make sure that you know what you are doing. I have used 4 different styles of laser sights over the years and I liked this one’s design as my newest 2 guns have mini rails under the barrels. This sight is easy to install and it is easy to adjust the windage and elevation settings. A great feature for this particular laser sight is that it is a green laser and very bright. It is much easier to see in the daylight and in the dawn, dusk or night time situations than a red laser. I liked this sight so much that I purchased 2 of them as they were on a great sale price and I have several weapons that I wanted to install lasers on. What’s in the box? • The laser itself • Two rail side mounting clamps • Four rail inserts to allow you to mount the rail mounted laser on multiple types of guns and rifles. The inserts are numbered and in the manual is a table to tell you which insert to use for your type of gun. (I show this in my video) • Two long mounting screws to mount the laser to your weapon. • Two lens wiping swabs • A small tool that you use to adjust the windage and elevation settings. • A battery that is a DL 1/3N 3V Lithium battery. Please note that you can register with Crimson Trace and get one free replacement battery once per year. The batteries are also available on desertcart and I have a small stock of them as multiple lasers and red dot scopes that I own use this same battery. The battery life for this green laser is two hours of continuous on time. • A battery cover. • An installation manual with set up instructions. • A gun safety warning sheet. • A warranty registration card and the warranty is for 3 years. • Two laser warning labels that you are requested to put onto your weapon. The laser is simple and easy to install and the adjustments are easy to make. The sight has ambidextrous switches to turn on the laser and the basic mode is constant on/off. If you press the switches on both sides of the laser for 3 seconds you can select the momentary on mode or the strobe mode and then back to the constant mode. It is a 3 second press of both switches to step to the next mode. The first thing I did was insert the battery and the positive terminal of the battery is installed facing down towards the battery cover. Do not shine the laser into your eyes as it is very bright and it can damage your eyesight. Make sure that the laser mounting screws are tightened but do not strip them as they are small. Some people noted that you may have to use Blue Loctite to secure the screws but I have not had that issue with mine. I always mount items so that the piece that fits between the rail guides is setting on the back of the rail slot so the gun recoil does not move what you are mounting. I show this in my video. This is a good product and I like it a lot. It was priced extremely well and I could not pass up buying several of these for my guns. I like this product and I rated it at 5 stars. Review: This is my second Crimson Trace laser. The first one was a laser guard model with a red laser, which was purchased 10 years ago and is still working perfectly. I appreciate that the laser is instantly on when gripping the firearm. By lightly lifting my gripping hand's middle finger I am able to deactivate the light, while still gripping the firearm. This second one is a rail master with a green laser (for a different firearm). The green laser is *much* easier to see in the day and night. I don't know why, but I like the strobe setting more than the constant on. As an added bonus, the battery lasts twice as long in strobe mode. The rail master was easy to install and easy to align with the iron sights. Looking forward to years with this new green laser.

Bought this for my home defense Glock 19. I won't go into the details of how to mount it, what it is, how it works, etc.. You can see the excellently done reviews here and on YouTube for all that. I'll just point out the strength of the green laser, especially in the daylight. The attached photos show the laser at work inside the house in darkness, the laser dot at 25 yards and 50 yards on a cloudy day and me at the 50 yard point for perspective. Note how the 50 yard dot is slightly larger than the 25, but see how bright it still is. Now, you probably won't be shooting at this distance, but it gives a good idea of the laser's power and visibility and daylight potential uses. We have humidifiers running in our house over winter, so you can actually see the beam clearly on the photo in the dark, due to the moisture in the air - cool ! I've fired about 50 rounds with it and no problems. It comes with a 3 year warranty and free batteries (1/3N) for life (one per year on request). I already have "Glow On" phosphorescent paint on my iron sights, but the laser will work immediately. I might not get a chance to power the Glow On paint with a flashlight for a couple seconds. One point to note is that I sight in the laser at about 20ft (ex-factory setting is 50ft). This ensures that the laser dot is visible above the iron sights at >7yards (the typical encounter distance). If you sight at 50ft, then the laser dot will be lower than the iron sights at <50ft and could be obscured from view when you bring your gun up to the normal shooting position, which should naturally line up your front and rear sights in your line of sight for point of aim; more so in daylight when you should be using your iron sights as the primary aiming method anyway. Remember, when you really need to use the weapon in earnest, you'll be relying on muscle memory pretty much the whole time. You won't want to be wondering where the laser dot is. I do actually set the laser dot behind the front sight at the point of aim at 7 yards. That way, I'm looking at the front sight and the laser dot is "hidden" when I can see the front sight and not forcing my focus to the target. This is a great value for a great laser system from a trustworthy manufacturer. You won't be disappointed!

I am using this laser on my Bersa Thunder Pro UC 9mm. Pros: Bright green laser that can easily be seen in sunlight or brighten up a dark room. Easy to install and sight in using a boresight. Works on any firearm with a picatinny rail and includes several adapters. Unboxing to gun range only took a couple min. Since the laser has to be manually turned on/off by the button, it is supposed to have great battery life. My unit came with lifetime batteries from Crimson Trace. Cons: The only issue when compared to other CT lasers or even the Viridian is the need to manually activate the laser. This usually means that I don't have a laser on fast draws. This isn't much of an issue for me however as I'm proficient with my weapon and use the laser mostly for harder shots with distance or when shooting from weird angles. Overall, I'm happy with the laser for the price.

I bought this for a S&W mod 327 M&P R8. My revolver has a 5" barrel and I mounted this on the bottom rail. It fits my revolver but ...The Crimson Trace website said it would fit but the directions (when it arrived) didn't specify which insert to use. I called Crimson Trace and they didn't know and said I'd have to try them all and figure out which was the better fit. While it fits with all four inserts I don't see that any of the inserts is a better fit than the others do went with the #3. None of the inserts brought the sight to the rear far enough so that it was against the frame , to prevent it from moving rearward when shooting. The activation switches on it can only be reached by using my free hand , so it takes both hands (one to hold the gun and the other to hit the switch) to turn it on. It would be real cool if adding a pressure switch was an option but it is not. I had to adjust both windage and elevation slightly to bring the green dot to where my iron sights were aligned. I like the low profile size of this sight and my revolver still fits its holster with it mounted. My holster , an Alaska Mangear chest holster , has extra room compared to a fitted leather holster , but the sight doesn't add any significant bulk to the gun. The green dot is bright and is easy to see in daylight at a 50' distance and even farther. If you register your purchase with Crimson Trace, they will send you one free battery a year which is a nice policy. I like this sight overall and plan to buy a couple more... I will uodate this once I've put enough rounds downrange to determine how well it works and whether it will "stand fast" under repeated recoil...
