Seems to work after turning up the frequency
Initially the product did not work with the nuisance cat soiling my grass right in front of the detector. For the last 2 weeks I have turned the frequency up to 3/4 level and have not had an issue since. A little fiddly to setup initially but so far so good. I'm giving 4 stars for now as I've not had it long enough but if it continues to keep the nuisance cats at bay then this product is a 5 star.

Noisy to humans, cats not bothered.
Every cat is different they say, but these have failed to be a cat repellent to our locals! They came as a twin pack, and were easy to set up.Unfortunately one failed after a couple of months. The one that still works is most annoying to humans!

It works well with cats and foxes to keep predators away from our rabbits
I bought one of these in October last year after we prepared the garden to lay turf and were having problems with cats coming into the garden to poo in the carefully levelled topsoil.Initially it didn't work, the settings weren't right so following the instructions kept tweaking until the problem disappeared. 8 months later and still no cat poo in the garden, which is a relief now that we have laid turf and our six year old Daughter uses it daily.I created some flower beds outside the garden and the first night I put down fresh compost, the cats used it to poo in. So, I bought two more of these devices and placed one on the gate angled down at the flower beds and as with my previous experience, having copied the settings from the original, no poo!We have concrete fence posts, so I have mounted the spikes in the slot against the fence panels. Having them at this height means less likely to be triggered by the rabbits wondering around the garden and a more effective deterrent for cats, foxes and probably birds (we never see them in the garden). Our Daughter is autistic and even though it's not supposed to be possible to hear the noise made, she can hear it but it hasn't caused her any distress. We do have plastic spikes installed at the top of our gate and fence panels facing the road. It's worth combining these scarers with spikes to be most effective. An added bonus is the spikes stop our Daughter escaping, as well as keeping animals out!

12 month review..
I have literally tried every frequency setting and level possible with this product over the last 12 months and have concluded that this is an absolute waste of money. It does NOT deter foxes, cats or squirrels. In fact, the foxes run around chasing each other in my garden, rolling on the grass and generally living it up. They often stand in front of the sensor to trigger it but it doesn't bother them one bit. I capture all this footage on my Ring cameras overnight as they detect motion and it's laughable when I see the blue light on the sensor clearly being triggered in the plant pot that I positioned it in yet that is the same pot they decide to dig out anyway resulting in a load of soil on the ground next to it. It's a joke.Do not waste your money if you have problems with foxes, cats or other animals this sensor is meant to deter. It doesn't work.Instead if you have problem with these types of animals digging out your soil or plant pots, then I would recommend "scat mats" and those have definitely made the difference for me. You can buy them on Amazon but do your research to find the ones that don't cause harm to the animals (obviously).I've decided that I can't beat the foxes or cats coming into my garden at night but what I am in control of is the plant pots and those are no longer being dug out. I am lucky that the animals don't come and poo in my garden though, so appreciate scat mats won't be of any use for that. My issue was slightly different to other reviewers.

The dogs no longer leave poo in our garden
I have a good experience with this repellent:1/ We had a problem with dogs going to toilet in our front garden. I wanted something that:A/ doesn’t need to be charged,B/ has adjustable distance (sensitivity) and C/ has adjustable frequency (this makes it versatile for other animals/sizes of animals)I’m satisfied with this repellent and would recommend it.I’ve improved it byA/ replacing the supplied batteries with higher capacity, as there isn’t much light here in winter. This is very cheap improvement and makes a difference.B/ I’ve covered the battery compartment with heavy duty weather resistant sellotape as I was afraid water will get in.C/ once I found the right distance and frequency, I marked it on the dials so that I don’t forget it. I also hardened the soil around it, so that it doesn’t move if strong winds come. We’ve had them now for four months. They’re working very well. I’m waiting for winter, if they survive it. But we do t normally have snow here and frost is exception.I had to test few frequencies (recommended in the manual) and after some time the dogs stopped coming to our garden. The blue light is very useful as it lets you test when the repellent is triggered. We have a pavement in front of our garden and I didn’t want the repellent to get false triggers from passing people and dogs. This would deplete the battery fast. The repellent has a dial to adjust the distance/sensitivity. I tuned it to 6 metres which is ideal. The repellent manages a large area - the angle at which it gets triggered is large. By having two, I was able to cover all entry points to our garden. The steel pegs are very strong, so I did’t have problem placing them in dry soil. The only negative is that the sound can be heard. So when I am gardening or washing the car and it gets activated, I prefer to turn it away from me or switch it off (by turning the dial to zero.
