HUMVEE HMV-VS-BK-M Medium Cotton Safari Vest with Extra Pockets, Black

I bought this vest for plane travel but still use it almost daily. It is indeed too boxy for a woman but it was not at all difficult to take in the arm holes at the shoulder and then it appeared to be made for a woman's shape. It is very useful and adaptable and I think it looks great on me now, the alteration is not noticeable yet the higher cut shoulders look good. The only recommendation I would give is that it is important to decide in advance which pockets you will use for which items or you will be rifling through them all every time you need something. This vest was well thought out and does the job. It can provide extra warmth yet the venting allows it to be comfortably worn when it is warm out too. I would recommend it as being a cut above the standard travel vest.

This seems to be a clone of the old Photojournalist's Vest from Banana Republic, from back when BR made cool outerwear. I say this because I own one of those old BR vests.In any case, it has a great deal of useful pockets, large and small, of different sizes and styles, and is generously cut for freedom of movement. I got this vest in black because I usually wear a black parka in the winter and wanted to wear a cargo vest over it without being too obvious. This vest fills the bill. I'm satisfied.

The Velcro is stronger than the stitching itself so the pockets will rip almost immediately when you open them. The mesh doesn’t hold up at all. The fabric stretches and deforms over normal use. The pockets have easily torn holes in them as well as drooped and deformed within lightweight items inside. The only thing held up on the vest were the D-rings on the upper chest loop.

Great pockets

I would say the provided description of the vest is really accurate. More pockets than you can shake a stick at, and the mesh underbelly makes the vest very breathable. The vest is also well-constructed. I've seen similar vests selling for 3 times as much in stores, which is why I haven't purchased one until recently. However, this vest fit the bill and I'd highly recommend it.

Needed a travel vest and this one certainly has enough pockets. I did find it a bit heavy to wear. My wife found a lighter one in a thrift store in Scotland. Ta da.

The design of the vest is okay. On the second day the vest was worn, the front zipper broke. The third day the inner pocket separated dumping my things on the ground. I retired the vest on the fourth day. I suggest that the vest only be purchased if the owner only wants to wear it for one day.

It fits as expected and has many pockets to store my gear. It makes things much easier. The design makes it cooler than expected. I always need somewhere to put stuff that I'm not using for a few minutes while I'm making adjustments to my camera. I don't always want to open up my backpack because I'll need the item again in a minute. The pockets are a great place to put a filter or remote as I'm adjusting my camera settings. I used it for the first time on a recent trip and loved it. I am also thinking I can eliminate the heavy backpack on our hikes when I want to get down to less gear for lighter travel. I love the vest.
