Really great product, exceeded expectations
Very pleased. I read the directions and cleaned the board with the appropriate cleaner, mixed the solution and applied with provided roller. You do have to furnish your own roller handle. I took the advice of others and took the tape off where I created the boarders after about an hour of the solution being on the board. It came of easy and I was able to take a cotton rag with some of the provided cleaner solution and clean up very carefully where the solution bled through the painters tape in a few places . Cleaned it up and it looks great. I bought this board off of face book marketplace and the finish was ruff. It looks great now. Very happy with this product..

READ THIS: Good Product if Applied Correctly
You will want to read this review if you are considering buying this product, which I’m very satisfied with outside of the lack of proper instructions. I’ve tried to supplement the company’s crummy information here with my own research notes:1. I honestly couldn’t believe how poor the instructions were for a chemical-reaction product — outside of the repeated insistence on cleaning and other surface prep, which I followed.2. From there, instructions deteriorate. For example, it says to add catalyst and “wait according to induction schedule on label” … which doesn’t exist anywhere. There’s also no guidance on product website and there’s no YouTube video (?!) So, I just kept mixing it until it looked like a thin toothpaste consistency, probably about 10-25 mins. But for goodness sake, this should be clear! Reviewers who got poor results may have used the product immediately after mixing, which would probably have screwed this project up but would have been logical to do given the lack of information.3. The instructions also said to pour the product on the board and suggested that the quart of paint is needed for one board. Thank God I didn’t do that. I have a very large diving board (118x18”) and it would have been too much product. If I had used the whole quart, I would have had so much paint on the board, it would have probably leveled out without the textured surface desired for this project.4. In any case, I taped off the edges of the board where I wanted to frame the texture and applied the edging with a brush using very little product. Then, I poured out very small amounts section by section and rolled them out with the special roller (which is a very good product for the task) making sure to not over-apply the product, which would have resulted in the paint being too thick and over-leveling.5. It never says how many times to keep rolling with the special roller as the product dries. You do need a balance of thickness to get the nappy texture. Thankfully, I read all the reviews on every site where this is sold before doing this and stuck to the advice from one reviewer that said to keep rolling out the surface every 15 minutes for like an hour after the first application. I did more than that, I think, as I lost track and was very satisfied with the final result as shown here. I think it’s probably super-important to do this so that you get the proper texture because as the paint mix dries, it does start to level out, and you want to prevent that — because leveled paint results in a more slippy surface when wet. I had one tiny spot where I apparently didn’t hit enough with the roller as it dried and I wish I had. But I give the result a 95% over all.6. Importantly, and I think this much was in the instructions, I did remove my painters tape edging before the whole thing dried too much. There’s a note about how difficult or near-impossible it is to remove the paint if it fully dried fully.7. The instructions do say this will take 7 days to fully cure, so you need to make sure you’re looking at least a good dry day or two without rain.8. Finally, I agree with the other reviewer who said that it’s unnecessary for the company to include the big container of flammable, toxic solvent paint remover to clean your brushes and so forth. I planned on disposing the brush and roller head after this, given the grainy nature of the paint. Like that guy, I now have to figure out how to dispose of this stuff or safely store it in my garage where I’d honestly prefer to not have it.Overall, very happy with the final result on Day One. We’ll see how this stuff holds up but I’m hoping to get 5-10 years out of it. Our fiberglass board looked original to our 1969 house and now it looks like new!

Great product and easy to use.
Do not mix the powder that comes with the kit into the paint. It is not sand, it's a detergent for cleaning off rust. I made that mistake with my first attempt.Read all of the instructions that come with the kit. After mixing the two components together, let it sit for 30 minutes before you applying. After you apply, go over it with the roller every 15 minutes for the first hour. This will help it not be slippery when it finally cures. No need to put it on thick. The mix says it's good for an 8 foot board but i had plenty for my 12 foot board. I bought two because I didn't think I'd have enough and I'm glad I did because the first kit I mixed in the 910 detergent and I should not have. In my defense, it does look like grip sand.

Works but take care with the process!
Reading the reviews indicates that the kits have varying components and application instructions. Mine came with the sand premixed. I added the catalyst. I used a chip brush on the board sides. As you can see from the picture, that application method gives a nice, exposed sand result, just like most manufacturers use and creates a fine, slip free surface. On the top of the board, I used the included special roller cover. This puts the paint on so thick, that, after about 15 minutes drying time, the sand grains sink below the paint surface, giving a slick and dangerous surface. So, every fifteen minutes or so, I rolled the top with the included special roller. About one hour in, the paint had stiffened up enough for the pattern from the included roller to no longer self level. It was most dry by morning and 100% dry in 24 hours. It is 100% perfect for slip resistance and beautiful to look at and covered completely my prior stained, cracked, leaking finish, including the fiberglass patch work I did just before painting. So, great product, but either apply thinly with a brush to let the sand stand out or use the roller to stipple once the paint has set up enough to hold the stipple.

Follow directions and it works great
Easy to use and restored our very old board to looking like new. All in, it took about an hour for clean, prep, mix, and coat. The directions read like a novel so it took a few reads to make sure I k ew what to do, it would be nicer to have them in a step-by-step format.

Everything you need.
I was pleasantly surprised with this kit. It included EVERYTHING needed to clean and paint my board with some paint left over. The result is a beautiful non-skid surface.
