Beautiful, sleekly finished kit - perfect for a younger group due to its simple construction
A very well made book nook. There were no missing pieces and the instructions were clearly written and illustrated. There are a lot of little details in the nook to look for: telescopes, shuttle, DNA strand, ship model, and of course the dinosaur. But don't be fooled by the all the detail, this kit is simple. Only a few pieces need to be glued, most everything else just slots into place. Now some of the trim around the upper edges can take a moment to get the right order of placement so that they lock each other in. My suggestion on this kit is NOT to glue anything unless they say so or at the very end if you want to "firm" things up.It is a beautiful kit and I would recommend it for a younger crowd because of the slotting. Everything is pre-cut - even the 10 million books and covers (which are stickers). The only dress up I did to this kit was to touch up some of the individual exhibits with markers (when they were printed on only one side). I tend to dress up the edges and backs so I don't have raw wood.It is an expensive kit. Is it worth that much? It is hard to say. It was nice not to have to cut out all those books covers, etc.

Awesome book nook
I don't have a lot of previous experience building 3D wooden models like this, but as a book lover, I really wanted to try this one. This kit was an excellent choice. It came with everything I needed, including the glue. The instructions were clear and easy to follow. The lighting works great. The T-rex was a *bleep* to put together, so I had to step away for a few minutes, take a few breaths, and come back to it. However, I won, and that was the only part that I had any trouble with. The globe in my set is etched wrong or something- the continents are mirrored/backwards, but I find it whimsical, so it doesn't bother me. I love all the tiny little details. I especially enjoyed studying all the tiny book covers. This was overall fun to put together, and I absolutely adore the finished product. This was worth the $55 I paid for it.

JUST AMAZING!
I order from Amazon frequently (pretty much DAILY), but I only post reviews when a product is either exceptional or disappointing. Fortunately, this kit falls into the former category—it's outstanding!I’m no newbie to building things, I’ve built 6-ft long flying scale helicopters that have appeared on magazine covers. I thought, “A $40 dollar wood kit? How detailed could it be?”I bought it anyway.I was pleased at the quality when I first opened it. It came with a decent set of tweezers, a tube of B-7000 adhesive, and a tiny emery board. “No matter,” I thought, “I’ve got nearly every modelling tool known to mankind.” It turns out—the ONLY additional item I used in assembly—was a TOOTHPICK. (It helps get all the little books aligned on the shelves.)Each book is a tiny block of wood, and they give you sheets of die-cut, self-adhesive stickers to wrap around them like slipcovers. Some of these covers are tiny reproductions of actual books, although you’ll only see the spines of 99% of them. The parts are obviously cut by laser, although I’m AMAZED at the precision. Most of the tabs have expansion slits that are thinner than a sheet of paper. The parts remain attached to the carrier boards by the tiniest of contacts, yet they stay firm until needed. They pop out with a thumbnail, and that’s where the little emery board comes in; to file off any ‘nubs.’ This does leave spots, and I found that the CHERRY marker from the “Rejuvenate EXACT MATCH Wood Furniture & Floor Repair Markers” set is almost a perfect match, and I touched them all up!The clear parts have a film that is so evenly applied, I initially thought they were simply matte. Peeling off the protective film, I was shocked at the clarity of the parts. This kit is first-class all of the way.One warning: While the instructions are clear, concise, and exact in EVERY way, there is almost NO text. The instructions come as a series of “Illustrated Parts Breakdowns,” the kind you see in service manuals, or online when you search for appliance parts. The manual is color—pay attention to the shading to make sure your parts are oriented properly. Remember, you can see only one side of them, the other side MAY be unfinished. The printing on the parts is also impressively done. Registration on all components was spot-on.I love this thing!

My first book nook was a blast
I've never done a miniature or a model or anything like that before. But I was intrigued by this book nook (Beyond Library) so I thought I'd try it out. So very glad I did! The quality of the product- the material, the laser cuts, etc- was far better than I expected for the price. The instruction manual was mostly pictures and few words, but it was never unclear to me what to do, altho (free advice here) just go slowly and study each step instructions. There were no missing pieces, and everything fit together snugly in a tight build. (I did have to repair one thing I broke during assembly- the fragile telescope mount, so I recommend you go gently and slowly on that part.)The glue and tweezers provided is all you probably need, but I did use a toothpick from time to time, and occasionally used an exacto knife to separate & trim the plastic pieces. The finished result exceeds my expectations, and I had so much fun in the process that I plan to purchase another kit from this brand and continue my journey in the world of book nooks.

My favorite!
This is a high quality product with good instructions. Why I love this one:Quality. The materials are solid and don't break easily. The pieces fit together well. Adding glue strategically reduces the fragility inherent in book nooks. I had one part break that I could not repair but compared with other products I still rank this one at the top.Design. I love the variety of objects in the design. Each time you look inside there is something new.Detail. There are realistic photos and the book covers are from Hemingway books.Electrical. I have built two of this model and in both cases the touch sensor was tricky to work with. The sensor is not sensitive enough or should be redesigned. It would also help to make the wires longer to make the easier to hide from view.
