Good quality with great sound
This quality radio alarm clock has two forward facing speakers, one either side of the display and a base port at the rear producing smooth, clear, true stereo sound, better than I expected from a clock radio! The operating manual could be clearer and many of the buttons are dual function, which I found confusing. Although remembering which button does what and how many times to press each certainly tests my memory, learning to operate it fully is well worth the effort as it has a depth of useful features. For example, the display, which dims right down, can be set to turn off completely after an adjustable time-out period from 10 seconds upwards. Pressing any button will then light up the display for the selected period, which is great if you don’t want to be reminded of the time during the night!Just a few points worth mentioning: The sudden step up in volume from increment 6 to 7 on the scale is disproportionate, a level in between would be just right for me.Also, I can’t read the small display when laid in bed without my glasses, no problem though if you have good eyesight. Just to mention, there is a removable film protecting the screen, which peels off.Additionally, a wire aerial would work as well as the telescopic type and in my view is much better, as it would hang discretely down the back of a bedside cabinet. In fact, I fitted such an aerial quite easily by attaching 50 cm of thin wire with a couple of small cable ties, holding the bare copper braid in contact with the telescopic aerial. Doing this is perfectly safe, it works well and is a much neater option as the telescopic aerial remains distended and clipped in its horizontal position (see photo).A suggestion for improvement would be the positioning of a large destinctive button placed on the top surface, which has the dual functions of Snooze and Sleep. With each press of such a user friendly button, the Sleep time periods would increase in15 minute increments before the radio switches off. With the current design it takes 13 pushes across 3 different buttons in order to set the radio to play for an hour before switching off, which is quite a challenge especially when I'm drowsy! These points aside this is a nice radio alarm clock with a solid feel, I am pleased and have no hesitation in recommending it.

A very useful little radio.
I wanted a small DAB & FM radio with a speaker mainly for use when I'm out camping or bouldering. This radio is perfect for that. Smaller and lighter than my phone (but a little thicker) and very easy to navigate the options with just a small number of button presses. The sound quality is actually a little better than I expected and it gets reasonably loud, though I can't see myself ever needing to turn it up beyond the halfway point. The reception is great. I wanted a radio with a small screen as possible to help preserve battery life and so this ticked all my boxes. I bought a B stock version and amazon added a further discount so it only cost me £11 however I'd be happy to pay full price for a replacement should I break this one.

In any other place I would be RUDE
Should never have bought it, Amazon should never have sold it. Most difficult thing to set up. Managed to tune the radio, but to get alarm times is impossible. Press one button and time flashes - then press another button to adjust time, but flashing only runs for 1 sec and so no time to set alarm on and off. Should never have bought a cheap radio, though not cheap with carriage charge.

Great UI, but poor sound quality
To start with the positives, this radio has one of the best user interfaces I've seen for a radio. There are a fair amount of buttons and not a lot of presses to get to where you want to get to.The display is pretty nice and is clear without too much information cluttering up the screen. What lets it down is the sound quality.Through its speakers, it's fairly tinny, but that's probably to be expected for a radio its size.Unfortunately, it doesn't cope much better with headphones. It severely lacks bass and the audio resolution doesn't seem particularly full. The biggest problem I've found is that there is no stereo whatsoever when listening to a DAB+ station.I would say this is a design fault, as through headphones, it plays stereo perfectly fine (where available) on a standard DAB station.Compare Heart London (DAB) with Heart UK (DAB+) and Smooth London (DAB) with Smooth UK (DAB+) and the difference is clear. DAB+ just comes out mono. I've tried with a different cable up to a stereo system in case it was incompatible with my cans/lead, but no, same.Bluetooth is a convenient feature, but the audio is far too low. Tested using my Samsung Galaxy phone. It's fine as a bathroom radio, but its compact size ought to make it ideal for travelling as well. Sadly, it's let down by the sound quality.
