We laughed so hard!
I love reading books to children! When I took this book out of my bag, and told the children with a very serious voice,”This is a book with no pictures”. They looked at me wide eyed waiting. We laughed thru the entire book!

Perfect, and it came early!
I usually order new books, but I am a guest reader for my daughter's kindergarten class tomorrow, and the only option available was a "used- very good condition." We already have a copy, but I wanted to donate the copy once read to my daughter's classroom. I needed this book, and accidentally forgot to order it sooner, so I needed it fast. Delivery date was supposed to be day of my guest reading day, if it wasn't here in time I had planned to bring our copy and drop off the donated one when it arrived. Let's just say I was very pleased to arrive home today to find the copy had come a day early. Not only that but I wear this book has never even been opened. No creases on the spine or pages, no marks anyway. Perfect book for a great price. And my 5 year old was thrilled to be able to hold the books I plan to bring tomorrow. She happily stacked them all on the table before bed tonight, eager for Mom to read to her friends. "The Book with No Pictures" is one of her favorites. We must have read it every night for a month when we first got it. But parents beware! You need personality for this book! Get ready to use funny voices, and prepare yourself for made up words. It's hilarious and entertaining, but you can make it even more so! Thanks to the seller for a great buy!

Recommended by a librarian.
A few years ago, a librarian recommended this book when I was looking for books to read to my kindergarten nephew. He absolutely loved it! He laughed and laughed, and immediately wanted his mom and then his grandparents to read it to him. I have recommended this book to several parents, and just bought this copy for my great-nephew. As a retired elementary school teacher, I highly recommend this book to read to young children. I don’t think you can go wrong with it!

A Kindergarten Favorite!
My kindergarten students love this book! They think it’s the funniest thing ever and ask for it all the time. I usually have parents read it during school read-in days, and it’s always a hit—everyone laughs, and the kids stay focused the whole time. It’s a great way to show that reading can be silly and fun, even without pictures. Definitely recommend for classrooms or as a gift for young kids!

Goofy. Kids 5 and under love it.
Be prepared to say silly things like "glug glug glug, my face is a bug, I eat ants for breakfast right off the rug." Kids laugh and it's fun. Be prepared for them to repeat all these phrases back to you after you read it.

So fun and silly! ❤️
This book is SO fun!!!! Kids LOVE IT! It’s silly will leave kids giggling! The best part is that when different people read it, they make different sounds so it feels like a new book! definitely get this if you are thinking about it!

Hilarious, but may not bear much repetition
A very funny and clever book, and a potentially good way to entice a child to transition to "no pictures" books. My 8 year old has been reading chapter books for a couple of years now, but she still found this book highly entertaining and asked for it to be read twice in one evening: once by me, once by my husband. My only worry is that this book will not bear many repetitions when read by the same adult to the same child. The book will still be quite fun for the children when read by the SAME ADULT to DIFFERENT CHILDREN, such as a grandparent reading it to different sets of grandchildren, for example, or a librarian reading it to different groups of children (my comedic timing will be much better the second time around). I think that the book may even be MORE funny when read to the SAME CHILD by DIFFERENT ADULTS (parents, grandparents, a teacher): the child sort of becomes a co-conspirator of the book, and together, they trick the unassuming adult into some goofy reading. But since most children have a rather limited amount of adults that read books to them, that still means quite few repetitions, compared to most books that do not rely on the element of surprise. That, to me, is the only disappointing limit of this book and the reason for my 4-star review.

My grandson (4) thought this book was hilarious. He laughed out loud throughout it and asked for it to be read again. When i visited him several days later, he asked if he could visit to read that 'funny book' again.

Keeps asking to read it. Adults NEED to be reading this for their children. It doesn't work when children read it by themselves, so... that's a thing to be aware of.

I was a bit hesitant to buy the book, because I could not imagine a picture book without pictures. But boy was I wrong! The book is hilarious, and my daughter absolutely loved it! I don't know if it would also work with younger kids (my daughter is 5), but may be worth a try. The whole premise of the book is making the reader say and do things that are just silly - but because a reader has to read what the words say... that just makes my daughter laugh out loud... Brilliant idea!

Our daughter came home from school telling us that her teaher read this out loud for her reception class and that everyone found it so funny. I decided to buy it to replicate this fun at home and also because if she is interested in a book I can get her to read from it which is of course good practice for her. Well it is quite funny, I can see why a reception class would find it hilarious! And she will help me read it too, so its win win!
