I love this kit! The patterns are very easy to understand.

I mostly wanted this for the pattern book. I like the style of crocheted dolls. My issue with the kit is there isn't enough yarn to complete the project. I had to use some of my own which was a different gauge. The hook they give is really flimsy. I decided to use my own which made for bigger stitching, but it seems to work just fine. The instructions on the legs were very confusing and I ended up putting the legs on backwards... d'oh! I am glad I got it for cheap. I would not recommend for beginners, but okay for someone experienced.

UPDATE: I have been slowly crocheting the two dolls and finally finished. I usually crochet loose (which is why my petal might be a bit larger) but my single crochet are always tight. Wish they gave you enough yarn to be able to crochet with different hooks if needed but I did enjoy the kit even thought this polyester yarn stunk but I did have some scraps and lots of stuffing left. I will be posting pics of both dolls and what I have left over with crochet hook I used. It a five inch hook I found here on amazon that very sturdy and similar tip to clover amore/ prym ergonomic plastic hooks. Also the first time embroidered face came out well too, I used my own hook, own sewing needle because my stitches were just so tight and I struggled a lot with the needle given. I highly recommend using you favorite yarn, hook, stuffing and darning needle if you have it. If not please buy a good ergonomic hook for better control and comfort. The hook it came with I use to help stuff the dolls and it bend in half so it was just to flexible to crochet with. Other than that I had fun making the dolls and can see myself making the others in the book. ______________________________ 4 stars because so far as I make Eleven I find the pattern pretty well written, many pictures, great front page references but legs still give me trouble putting together (always the hard part for me) so I winged it a bit. Anyway so far I used my own 2mm hook and found mine to be slightly smaller than kits hook which makes very tight stitching which is good because you don't get enough grey and I just barely won yarn chicken to make shoes. The yarn and needle are definitely not the best because pattern designer use fingering weight yarn and kit's yarn looks thicker to mine and with 2mm lots of splitting which I feel could have use bigger hook possibly 2.5mm to 3mm. I did have a bit of tension problems as I got used to the 2mm but Chibi Eleven is going well so far but skirt is stiff, way too stiff. Also I dislike the stuffing because it feels like cotton balls with no bounce just stiff and compacted. I will continue with suggest hook size for both dolls to see how much yarn is left and will post pictures later as an update. So far I am enjoying it and will definitely make the other chibi humans characters because I like the the look of these characters and maybe some tweaks here and there to make it work for me. As for the $19+ with tax I paid. I don't think it was a bad price or experience so far because you get to make 2 dolls but get a nice printed book with 12 character patterns to make and even later use as reference for other amigurumis. All in all this will be an interesting learning experience for a beginner who wants to give it a go. Just take your time and read carefully which I did because every pattern designer writes and explains slightly differently or assumes you know the basics.... This is the second kit I have tried and this one is far better but this polyester yarn smells like gasoline to me and the first simple kit I tried at least gave a ergonomic hook and video(s) even though pattern didn't really match picture of the amigurumi I made. Also if not careful you can run out of the smaller yarns like in this kit the grey, orange, green and black. This kit really is a nice kit though I wish they would give you better yarn because I have tried some nice quality chinese made yarn before and know there is better yarns china has made. They worked with an crocheter that has made amigurumis before which is a plus and you even see her picture and name with a small introduction. So at least she getting some sort of credit. If I every want to try a licensed kits again I think I would look into the others this publisher has made,too. Again after I finished the dolls I will try to post pictures later as an update.

Niestety, producent daje za mało wełny, żeby można było wygodnie zrobić 2 postacie. W tym momencie wolałbym zapłacić trochę mniej i kupić samą książeczkę bez dodatkowych elementów. Jeśli ktoś robi na szydełku prawdopodobnie i tak ma swoje wygodniejsze szydełka, o wełnie nie wspominając.

El tamaño de los muñecos es genial y vienen super bien explicados, pero me ha faltado hilo para hacer a El y al demogorgon. De hecho, me han faltado prácticamente de todos los colores. He usado el ganchillo del 2 y he seguido a rajatabla las instrucciones. Si no piensan poner todo el material necesario es mejor que vendan el libro solo. Es un engorro llevar un proyecto muy avanzado y tener que volverte loco buscando hilo de un color que se le parezca. Me ha frustrado mucho este inconveniente

The book with instructions is easy to follow and there are tutorials for how to do each type of crochet stitch at the beginning of the book which is great for learners. All the patterns are cute! However, there is not enough yarn provided to complete the projects!! I started the demogorgan and ran out of tan yarn to do all five petals. I am an experienced crocheter and didn't waste a single inch. Luckily I did all the body parts first so they match. Hopefully I can find a similar yarn to complete it.
