Fantastic
Fantastic. Fixed a problem I've been struggling with for years trying to connect a modern TV to an older sound system. The only downside I have is that the volume output is a little low.

Works great on PS3/XBOX360
Bought this to try as my monitor does not have a sound output. It powers itself just fine using the USB slot on the consoles, so no extra plug needed.Slight downside is that there is a loud pop 2-3 times when booting the consoles but its a small inconvenience for this solution.

Easy to use but unit had unreliable 3.55mm socket
This is a neat little unit and is easy to set up. Volume control is good and the sound quality matches a good pair of headphones. BUT I found the unit I purchased had an unreliable 3.5mm jack connection. With care I could position the plug in the socket and get full sound, but often it could not be obtained and if the unit moved, the connection was lost. I tried it with three different headphone kacks and the result was consistent. I returned this and will try another brand, but all these devices seem to have some problems Maybe there's an element of luck in it..
