Quickie Review: I still haven’t read the last couple of books in the Perfectly Imperfect series but I was eager to see what the next generation had to say. And I was not disappointed. It was an amazing Beauty and the Beast fractured retelling, that absolutely held my attention from start to finish. I inhaled the story and in the end, couldn’t stop smiling. Neva Altaj is an amazing author who doesn’t know how to write a bad story. 5 Stars!

I KNEW I’d love it because I love the original series! I was right and now I absolutely CANNOT wait for Yulia book….I’m ready for a bodyguard romance and I’m soooooo hoping that Yulia keeps the studio apartment🤭

We’ve moved on to the next generation of mafia kids from the Perfectly Imperfect series. Vasilisa is the daughter of Roman, the Bratva’s Pakhan. We met Rafael briefly in one of Neva’s previous books and learn that he is a hired hitman. After Vasilisa hacked into Rafael’s systems one too many times he has her kidnapped and brought to Sicily.We have another age gap story as Neva tends to write, which I don’t love but could look past it. Vasilisa and Rafael were good for each other and Rafe just couldn’t understand that he didn’t need to buy her love. There is a brief third act break, but things get resolved pretty quickly. I look forward to the rest of this series and reading about the kids of our favorite characters from the first books.Age gapThird act break, not really a breakup4/5 on the Spicy ScaleM/FMafia

Could not put it down!Read in 2 days! Love, mafia violence , suspense with a great ending. Comical and gory! Entertaining and psychologically flawed characters that you fall in love with!

I read all of the first generation series and it was so good. Now getting to read about the kids is even more fun. This was such a great book and I can’t wait for the next one.

I didn't expect b a fast whirlwind romance, but this took longer than desired. The small tómense of affection were sprinkled throughout nicely. The family dyanmics.for both characters made it more real. I laughed more than gasped. A great read.

This is Vasilisa and Raphael’s story that is a loose interpretation of Beauty and the Beast.Raphael is disfigured early in his life saving a little girl. He’s worked hard to become the Don of half of Sicily. His company is infiltrated by a hacker who he demands is captured.Vasilisa is the daughter of the pakhan in Chicago. Her Dad wants her to live a boring normal life. Her Uncle along with college teaches her how to be an excellent hacker. She wants to help her Dad in Bratva business but he is totally against that idea.This story is really different as it’s not the typical submissive little woman and OTT Alpha guy. There is a few going back in time to explain things or as flashbacks that can be a little confusing but the twist and turns are so good.I guess this would be classified as a slow burn since they don’t even kiss until about 60% thru the book. Told dual POV which is great and does have an epilogue. Definitely worth the read.
