Best bread machine I have ever owned!
8.7.25 UPDATE: After a year and a half, this bread machine is still working as it should with no issues. It is used 3-4 times a week. I would definitely recommend to others. I was hesitant to pull the trigger on something I consider "pricey" and not really a necessity. Glad I did. I have owned many different models and makers of bread machines over the years and this one beats then all! I love that it has the heating element in the lid also as it helps to bake the bread more evenly. I have had it about 3 weeks now and have used it no less than 3 times a week to make raisin bread, white bread, dinner rolls and pizza dough. Everything I have made has been good. I even deviated from the recipes a bit and added a few additional ingredients to the raisin bread with no issues. The machine does the work for you when making dough and you just remove it and shape it into whatever you want to bake. Clean up is easy but you need to aware that you cannot submerge to dough bucket in water. You must hand wash the inside with a soft cloth and soap and rinse it out. The dough paddles are easy to remove and clean with soap and a soft rag. When I am done I just wipe the outside of the machine off with a damp cloth and it is ready for the next time I need to use it. If you are limited on storage space you need to know this machine is larger than most as it makes a 2 pound loaf of bread. I have cheese bread being made in my machine as I write this. The recipe book is easy to follow also and has many very good recipes to use. Overall I love this machine and feel for the money you will not be disappointed if you got one for yourself! Happy bread baking to you!

Love this breadmaker!
I've really enjoyed this bread maker! I've had it for over two years and made a loaf of bread each week. It has held up well. I would buy this again. Pros *The shape of the bread. *Easy to use. *Quiet enough. *Bread comes out of pan easily. Just requires a little shaking. Cons: *Doesn't do mix-ins well. If I want to mix in nuts/seeds, I take the dough out of the maker when it beeps and knead in the nuts on the counter and then put the dough back in. This is easy to do and works well. *I didn't like the included wheat bread recipe, so I found a different one and tweaked it to my liking. It makes a less dense loaf. It is included below. Wheat Bread Recipe 340 mL slightly warm water 3 Tblsp honey (I don't measure the honey, so am guessing here.) 2 Tblsp olive oil 3 cups whole wheat flour 1/2 cup white flour 2 Tblsp vital wheat gluten 1 1/2 tsp salt 1 1/2 tsp rapid rise yeast Add the ingredients to the baking pan in the order listed. It helps if you keep your flour fluffy...I don't dump the flour in the pan in one big clump, but more like heavy sprinkle it throughout the pan. Make a well in the dry ingredients and add the yeast inside the well. Press the course button to select course 2, and press the start button. If you use all whole wheat flour, you will need to increase the vital wheat gluten. Yum! Making some bread right now.

Easy to use Breadmaker
The Zojirushi BB-PDC20BA Home Bakery Virtuoso Plus Breadmaker is a great breadmaker. We purchased this and began making bread immediately. There is a recipe book that helps to get you started, but you can also search for other recipes. We have not purchased bread from the store since we made this purchase. Its nice knowing that there are no additional preservatives in your freshly baked bread. the breadmaker is very easy to use and the cleanup is very easy. It does accommodate a 2 lb loaf, but can also be used for 1.5 lb loafs. The larger capacity is great for making pizza dough etc. The machine seems to be built solid, but that's what Zojirushi does, build solid appliances. It costs a little more, but highly recommended.

Zojirushi Breadmaker
This bread maker is worth the money. It produces a nice loaf and is very easy to use. The directions are easy to follow. It runs quietly and won't disturb anybody taking a nap. I did a ton of research before I bought this bread maker, and one of the features that I liked was that the bread comes out looking like a loaf of bread and not a tube-looking bread. t The other factor was its reputation and the reviews. Glad I spent the extra money on this fine machine. UPDATE: I've been using this machine for several months now and have baked bread about once a week. I'm thrilled I have this bread machine because it never fails to bake a great loaf of bread. It may cost more but it performs great and worth the extra cash.

Love the product
It is the easiest way I have ever baked any bread. I have baked my own bread since the pandemic, but I always had mixed results. I tried to bake bread the way my mother and grandmother did in Germany, but I always had mixed results. I owned a breadmaker many years ago, and I did not get the results I wanted. This breadmaker gives you perfect results by just adding the ingredients, closing the lid, and coming back later. I only had one problem: when I unpacked the breadmaker, I could not find the two paddles that go inside the base. They are packed separately in the foam of the packing material. Because they are small, I missed them at first and almost panicked. I ended up calling the company to find them. I also want to add that if you buy this breadmaker, spend the money to purchase a bread slicer so you can have your perfect toast in the morning.

Best Bread Machine
I read reviews from CNET. This Zojirushi BB-PDC20 bread machine was reviewed as the favorite, but due to high price did not make #1 spot. I was willing to pay the high price because of the double mixer paddles and the excellent review it got. I have had this for 2 to 3 weeks and do really like this bread machine. The bread is so light and airy compared to my old Hamilton Beach being heavy and dense. I use regular flour and not the called for bread flour. I make my own cinnamon rolls using the dough setting, I've made the white bread and the honey bread recipes from the book that came with it, delicious. Husband asks to make more of the bread. The machine is pretty easy to use and are the recipes although, it doesn't indicate if the liquid should be warmed or not unless I am missing it somewhere or not understanding so I warm it to the temperature my yeast recommends. There is a resting period right at the start, but I didn't read anywhere if it warms/heats the ingredients to temperature while in Rest therefore, I warm my liquid. I also haven't been using Rest. I recommend going through the book a few times with a "mock" set up to get an understanding with hands on. Also to understand using Dough and Homemade settings because those you can change up to your liking and can be a little hard to understand in the book. Update: I reread the review and it indicates the Rest brings the ingredients to an ideal temperature. Pros: Dough comes out nice. Bread bakes and comes out nice. Light and airy. Simple to use so far. Top and bottom heaters. Double mixing arms Rectangular loaf. Pretty quiet. Recipe book fairly easy to understand. 'Rest' can be shut off. Really nice machine and highly recommend it. Can't think of anything I don't like. Cons: I don't have any so far about the machine. The book can be a little hard to understand without hands on practice. Update 03.19 23 Still love this bread machine. I use it All The Time. I would buy again and recommend to others. The only con I have: all manufacturers should include a mini brush to insert into the paddle holes for cleaning the little bits of dough out that water won't get out. Luckily I have brush that works.

Best Tasting -- and Shaped -- Bread Loaves!
This review is from a sandwich-obsessed eater. Free-form loaves from bakeries where majority of slices aren't big enough for a real sandwich (what do you do with all those small round slices anyway?), are frustrating to types like us. We like pan-shaped loaves. Sadly most bread machines make bread look like weird roundish or squarish hulks, usually with big holes in bottom slices from kneading knobs. And why bread machine loaves in the past tasted a lot like day-old crummy bread idk. A bakery at the end of our street decides to only open a few days a week and rarely makes anything but sourdough (that's a no from us). So we decided to spend top coin on this highly-rated Zojirushi and every coin was worth it! From the outstanding loaf-pan shape to crust color to spot-on flavorful bread this machine is hands-down Best In Class. Easy to set up -- we even made bread within just a few hours of opening the Amazon box. And the verdict: This produces some of the best tasting bread we've ever eaten...seriously. The crumb was spectacular. And yes, there are small indents where the two kneading knobs were located but the knobs were in the pan, not stuck inside the loaf like with other machines. The pan was easy to clean too. We put sliders on bottom four legs of the machine so it is glides across countertop. Despite a tiny kitchen we made room for this larger machine because it's going to be a work horse now that we're no longer dependent on the undependable bakery at the end of our street. Excited to try different recipes from included booklet, and we're already taking orders from family members. If you love bread as much as we do, invest in the best -- super worth it *****

Makes a wonderful loaf of bread
Zojirushi BB-PDC20BA Home Bakery Virtuoso Plus Breadmaker received on 4-22-22. This bread maker makes wonderful tasting bread. Easy to use and clean. Followed the recipes, in the furnished recipe book, for white bread and mini white bread. And yes, this bread maker does make a smaller more traditional sandwich sized loaf of bread aka mini. Both came out perfect. Loved the looks, texture and especially the taste of both. Store bought (no more for us) does not even come close. Can't understand why some have indicated the recipes did not work for them. Looking forward to trying some of the other recipes. Relative to the mixing paddles. Yes, sometimes, they will stick to the paddle shafts. No big deal. Filling the inside of the baking pan with water, AFTER THE PAN IS ALLOWED TO COOL, to just cover the shafts and paddles and allowing to soak for a few minutes takes care of the issue. Again, no big deal. TIP: Removing the paddles, just prior to the last rise, substantially reduces the bottom of loaf torn bread problem that some have taken issue with. Now for the REAL BIG DEAL PADDLE PROBLEM and why four stars instead of five. As stated in many of the negative reviews, and in my opinion, the paddles are very poorly designed. I feel that the paddles, when placed on the shafts, have way to much play in them. In fact, in the new as received unused condition, they appear to be 90% worn out and in my opinion will lead to premature failure. I feel that the way the paddles fit on the shafts is a major problem that the Zojirushi staff should address and change. It's a very simple manufacturing fix. No logical reason that the paddles should have so much play. Thanks to all who brought this issue to our attention. We will be paying close attention to premature paddle failure and will replace accordingly. But, guess what, as of this date, 5/5/22, I was told by a customer service rep that replacement paddles ARE NOT IN STOCK. What's up with that? We do highly recommend this bread maker as it does make a wonderful loaf of bread.
