Great for cats dealing with anxiety and stress
The sound quality of this tiny speaker is amazing. I can hear the music clearly in three rooms of my home when I put this speaker in the middle room. The music is very mellow instrumental, and similar to what you might hear in a yoga, acupuncture, or massage business. It is pleasant and relaxing music to listen to for us humans and not just for your cats, though I have seen my cats really seem to like this music. I turn it on when I leave for work, and leave it playing for about an hour when I get home from work. I keep it plugged into a USB plug adapter, so it won't run down the battery and then stop playing, but it will run for about six hours on the battery if the power is out. This music has really helped one of my tenser cats be happier. He used to urinate in some areas when I first brought him into my multi-cat home (due to stress of the loss of his former owner of seven years, and a whole new territory and new cats), and over time and with the use of Feliway, he has been doing that less frequently, but he still does it a few times a month. Since playing this music daily though, I think he will be doing that even less and feel much more safe and secure in his environment. I already see that his personality is so much more confident now, and I've only been playing the music for five days.

Kitty Muzak
My cat loves this. When I have to be away from home for several hours, I leave it on near her cat tree where she hangs out. The instructions say that you can even download your own music, which I have not done and don't intend to do. I gave this as a gift to my brother who has 5 cats, and he says they seem to like it, too. Think "kitty Muzak" and that's what it sounds like. I'm glad I bought it because if I'm away from home overnight, my kitty has some aural stimulation and comfort. Well worth the money to me.

Very expensive music
I have one of these for my home, two for the shelter where I volunteer, and I purchased a fourth for a rural animal control in my state. I feel the music helps calm the cats and that is why I recently purchased the one for the animal control. However, I am a little puzzled by the higher price than a couple years ago and the fact that the newer models do not come with cords that plug into an electrical outlet. Yes I bought the connector at the hardware store, but honestly, could they not come with that? The price goes up and they make you buy your own connector. Number four was the last for me. Someone brought me speakers with MP3 capability and I am using those in addition to the Pet Tunes players.

This is amazing
I bought three of these, each for family members fur babies. This little music box is a power house, long lasting and calming for the little ones with separation anxiety. I also have one for our little Dachshund who has suffered from depression after losing her sister who left a massive hole in our hearts with her absence. We play this for the little one who seems to calm down and sleep while this is playing. The battery lasts most of the day.

No Noticeable Difference - Lots of Alternatives
This cat music player was recommended to me by a groomer who uses it to calm kitties.Pros:- After charging, the battery can run for 6-8 hours straight- Some of the classical music was very enjoyableCons:- No noticeable difference in temperament of my two kittens when I played the music.- When charging, there's no indication that the player is fully charged. The color stays the same during the entire time it is charging.Alternatives:- Pet Acoustics also has an app, which could be a much more cost-efficient alternative to this item.- I've found calming cat music on Youtube to be more effective in calming and putting cats to sleep. This channel has great videos: https://www.youtube.com/user/relaxmycat

Don't fall for this overpriced gadget
I'm a certified animal behavior consultant who works with cats. While working with a client on de-stressing her feline friend, I mentioned playing some soft harp music for him. There are some very good videos online that last six hours or more. That's when she told me that she'd been using this little device and that it had been recommended by her vet. I was curious, so I bought one. I thought it might turn out to be something I could recommend to clients. Unfortunately, that's not the case. The product itself, and the music that's included are okay. Nothing really wrong with them. I took out the memory card and opened it on my PC. It contains 10 MP3 files that end up being about the same length as a standard CD.There's really nothing magical or special about these tracks. Composer Janet Marlow refers to herself as a "sound behaviorist", but in my experience there's no such thing. It's just a role she's made up for herself. In researching her credentials, I found no indication that she has any training in animal behavior whatsoever. She's simply a composer who found what many of us already know - soft music can provide positive enrichment to animals. Again, there's nothing magical or special about these particular tracks. You can achieve the exact same results with pretty much any soft, harp music.Which brings me to the device. After searching online, I found this exact device offered by an electronics swag marketer called Everything Promo for just $3.41 each in bulk. So, "Pet Acoustics" is buying these, rebranding and packaging them with Janet Marlow's MP3s and selling them for more than 20 times what the devices cost them. You can even find other versions of this product here on Amazon. Just search for Music Angel, for one.You may wonder why I gave this device two stars instead of one. Well, it's convenient. If you don't want to fuss around with your phone or bluetooth speakers, this is an instant audio salve for your cat's environment. Mind you, there are MUCH better and cheaper options out there, but if you really don't care how much it costs, this device may actually work for you. Personally, I'd rather save my money and spend it on cat trees and other longer lasting enrichment.
