Mindfulness Techniques
This is my second book written by the respected Thich Nhat Hanh, the first being 'Peace is Every Step'.In the first book, he explained the meaning and importance of mindfulness in every step that we take. I wanted to explore more of mindfulness, hence I brought the second book, as it has techniques for mindfulness. This book is a long letter written by Thich Nhat Hanh to his brother. The book turned out to be an amazing read with a lot of techniques to practice mindfulness in Chapter 8 - Exercises in Mindfulness. Before getting there, Thich Nhat Hanh explains the importance of mindfulness. When we eat some fruit, we should be eating the fruit. When we are doing the dishes, we should be doing the dishes. As simple as it sounds, most people have not been able to follow it. I am one of them. When I was reading a book, I was thinking about the meal I was going to have. When I was having the meal, I was thinking about the project I was supposed to deliver, and it goes on. I was either thinking about the past or the future or building up scenarios in my head which might never happen. The idea in this book is to stay present in whatever you're doing, be completely involved in the task.Imagine doing all your tasks that way, it will change the way one lives, by developing a single-minded focus on the task. I have started enjoying little tasks like switching a button On or Off, cleaning the dishes, watering the plants, taking a walk. One of the stories I loved was of a king who was seeking answers for the following questions:1. What is the best time to do each thing?2. Who are the most important people?3. What is the most important thing to do at all times? The way the author gave a revelation by the answers opened my eyes. The author explains importance the breathing during mindfulness and explains ways to incorporate it. He also explains how being alive itself is the biggest miracle, and we are waiting for other miracles to happen. The last chapter of the book gets a bit repetitive, but the idea is enlightening.I am going to recommend this book to everyone who is looking for peace and wants to live a more mindful life. Although I am keep exploring more on this topic.

Really Good Book
This book contains the practice of mindfulness. This is more of a practical guide than phylosophical.Recommended.

Not exactly a book
It focuses too much on methods. Concepts are supposed to be applied without much illustrations. The method of narration is also not story like. The daily musings by J.Krishnamurti is a better read.

Useful for both the beginners and practitioners of meditation
Concise and clear writing about what is mindfulness and how to practice it. One most important takeaway for me is that reflection on oneself is necessary and it helps in the meditation process. I read it once now I am reading it again. It is that kind of book that one should read multiple times and keep it for reference.

Beautiful insight on concept of mindfulness
Good if mindfulness as explained by Master Han interests you. Mindfulness is widely misunderstood term and the real import, so powerful yet so simple depends on how you understand it. Written in very simple terms and very plain and simple to understand english. It's both, a book of knowledge as well as practice.

A simple, easy to understand book on how to live with mindfulness..
A simple, easy to understand book on how to live with mindfulness. Thich Nhat Hanh inspires with stories and shows the path to a more meaningful and fulfilling life by being mindful in everything that one does. The focus on breath as a way of connecting the mind and body is explained very well. The book teaches the path to a tranquil and clear mind through meditation. I will keep this as a good reference book to get back to once in a while to refresh the memory and see how much progress I have made on my personal journey to a mindful living.
