Works really well.
I have a nice front door that was originally installed in the late 70's. Lot of fancy this and that and very heavy. It attained a crack and I decided to replace it. The last exterior door I purchased was in 1996. I went to replace it with a similar door and the cost was $3000! Just for the door. So I decided I was just going to completely refinish the door. This door began life as a solid wood stained door, over the years it has been painted, five times. I started sanding and immediately realized this was going to take forever. So I looked for alternatives and found a lot of YT videos about this product. all positive, I could find nothing negative about it. So I bought the first jar. Filled the crack, sanded the whole door smooth and put this on it. I then stained it and it worked unbelievably well. It's been over a year and it has held up really well. My neighbor is a woodworker and has a big shop behind his house with all the tools of a woodworker and has built his own house entirely buy himself, twice. Very nice homes. He saw my door and thought I stripped and stained it. I said no, it's paint on wood. You paint it on and stain it just like you stain any wood. He did not know there was such a thing but said it came out really good and looks like wood. I will add that I went to Lowes and bought the plastic tools to add fake wood grain, knots and so forth. I have also purchased three jars total because I am also doing my garage door to match my front door.Great product, actually works.

I'm in love with this kit!!!
The media could not be loaded. This kit is awesome and definitely worth the price. The materials in the kit are of good quality. The brushes arent cheap or flimsy and the paint containers are a good size. I have tons left over for other projects. U would never be able to tell its painted on wood cuz it feels so real. I would highly recommend this kit if u have some ugly pieces youd like to spruce up. I didnt take a before pic but the cabinet before i painted it was the average white cabinet youd find in a rental bathroom. Also on the left hand top corner its darker than the rest but that was because the original cabinet was peeling so i probably shouldve peeled the rest of before starting but I didnt so thats why its slightly darker. All in all u wont be disappointed. Its user friendly theres no way u can mess this up lol. If I can do it u can do so just buy it 😉

Update with a wood grain and stain.....Marvelous!
This is my second time buying this product! I love that I can give new life to something that is 20+ years old. I have before and after pictures up. Before is the last one, a standard, late 90's, early 00's table. Now? Gorgeous dark wood top with a bit of weathered look. This system is fairly easy! I used a base of Light Wood and grained with the Bleached Wood (picture 4). The liquid wood dries fast and you can stain after it dries. I LOVE how it turned out! I have picked up a few more things to do. My chair seats were lightly sanded and stained with the RetiqueIt water based gel stain in Java. I did not use the liquid wood on them, just stained over the existing color (5th picture). If you are wanting a change and your existing furniture has a lot of life left but you are tired of it? Give this a go!

Game Changer
This product is a game changer for elevating pieces quickly! It took me two nights to fully refinish our bathroom vanity (see before and after pictures). For a product that only cost $50, I was pleasantly surprised!! I now don’t have to spend hundreds of dollars to replace a functional vanity for aesthetic reasons. However, the one drawback is the staining process. After adding the retique it liquid wood and letting it dry, I followed the exact directions for the stain. After applying, letting it sit, then wiping the stain off twice, like the directions called for, I noticed no noticeable difference in the color. I had to get creative and paint it on with a brush and then just let it dry. That was the only way it would actually work, which was different from the directions. I was barely able to stain the entirety of the vanity before I ran out of stain, but I think if I didn’t needlessly wipe off the product at the start, then we would have been fine. Overall, I think this is a great product if you want to easily upgrade a piece of furniture. I’m hoping it holds up well!

Works great
I was super skeptical but I didn't want to strip my front door although I wanted a wood grain look. I saw this used on YouTube and decided to go for it. First I tried it out on a small peice of furniture. I suggest this before going all out on a huge project. I was able to see how itwould turn out and also was able to get down the technique prior to starting on my large doors. You do need to work in long strokes to get that wood look. It was difficult working with my door that had ridges and therefore more difficult to do the wood grain long strokes BUT not impossible. I used the dark wood primer and used a transparent dark stain over it. Most stains you rub off after it's applied from what I saw on YouTube however once I applied stain over this primer I could not rub it off BUT I loved the look it gave. All and all, this stuff is pretty cool and actually does work. A little goes a long way. I did 2 small pieces of furniture and 2 large double doors and I not even a quarter of the primer is gone. This stuff could literally cover so much.

Great stuff
Wasn't sure about this liquid wood. But OMG it worked for what I needed. The Hoosier cabinet project is not what I thought it was. The top of the base isn't real wood. Needed the top to able to accept stain. This stuff is great. I sanded down the fake wood. Used a primer, sanded that down, use this liquid wood in 2 coats sanding in between using extra fine steel wool. Stain came out more beautiful than I could imagine. Love this stuff and so glad that this product was out there for me to re do the Hoosier cabinet.

Amazing product - easy amateur DIY
Super amazed by this product.Bought it to revive an old table that was Vanier that chipped. Was able to paint on retique it and stain it rather than just paint it.Some reviews worried me because they made it seem like a complicated process. I found it very easy. Paint on liquid wood, 2 coats with dry time in between. Light sanding. Apply stain, 2 coats again. Then pick your top coat of choice to seal it all in.
