CURT12343 Class 2 Trailer Hitch, 1-1/4-Inch Receiver, Compatible with Select Lexus ES350, Toyota Camry, Black

Excellent build quality . This was a very easy install unbolted 10 bolts and installed 8. Install can be done by one person. They could have made the bracket just slightly larger to encompass the other 2 holes that were on the existing bracket that was removed the hitch still seemed to be very tight on the car.When bolting the hitch in leave all the bolts loose until you get them all in where they go . the hitch can be installed without dropping the mufflers down you still have to remove the back brackets but the stay in place because the stay attached to the muffler ,ther is enough room to get your socket wrench to work about an hour and forty minutes to install the hitch. I had arranged for U-Haul to install it prior to buying the hitch a week later after scheduling an appointment with them .Got a call from the U-Haul place where it was supposed to be installed and they said that they do not install third party hitches. They could have made an easy 165.00 if they would have installed the hitch . U-Haul hitch and complete install was 501.00 dollars less tax.

I bought this hitch to use with my hitch mount cargo carrier. There is a youtube video made by Curt for this exact model hitch. They recommend separating the exhaust rubber isolators from the exhaust system to drop the exhaust for installation. My 2007 Camry is 17 years old and has spent its entire road life on Southern California roads; therefore no rust, corrosion, etc. I knew from my 72 years of experience that removing and reinstalling the four mounting exhaust hanger mounting bolts would be much easier laying my back than trying to remove and reinstall the isolators. The only problem installing the hitch was positioning the muffler hanger bracket which was remounted in its original bolt holes which are now also used to bolt the passenger side of the hitch. The muffler bracket must be raised into position at the same time as the hitch. It was much easier having an extra pair of hands during this part of the install. I used only hand tools and start to finish was under 1.5 hours. The muffler neoprene isolator comes into contact with the hitch after installation, but the metal hanger is not in striking distance. My hitch was shipped by the postal service. The hitch was not packed in a way to prevent this heavy steel structure from bouncing around in the box during shipping. However, this was a very sturdy box that had some interior damage but otherwise remained intact.

It fit my Toyota Camry fine. It looks nice; most of it is hidden. It is made very well. Hooking it to the driver's side was easy. The front bolt on the passenger side and the two bottom bolts were also easy. But you always have that one! and it was the back bolt on the passenger's side. The tail pipe was in the way and I could not get it started. But finally I got it in. Even though that one bolt took extra work overall it went very well. And now I have a great receiver hitch on my car to mount my carrier.

Installed in 45 minutes on 2010 ES350 LexuesOther reviews stating the holes do not line up are probably due to INCORRECT installation... The holes are tight but DO line up correctly IFyou drop the rubber exhaust hangars 1st. Then put ONLY 1 bolt in each side and go back and forth from the left to right. If you try to mount 1 side at a time, you will have issues. This is just common sense....I have bought 5 Curt hitches in the past and never had an issue with installation! Amazon shipping leaves something to be desired though...

I was having difficulty trying the thread the bolts on the car where no bolts were previously installed on my Camry. However, I found it much more smooth once I sprayed WD-40 in the threads and cleaned it with a battery post terminal wire brush. I just inserted the battery terminal brush (Protruding end, with the wire bristle) in where the bolts will go, and gave it a really good cleaning. There was lots of surface rust build up since it was unused previously. If this doesn't work, you may need a tap and die set (17mm I believe) to remove all the rust.Plus, if you do not have a Battery terminal brush, it's nice to have on hand anyways. I have and used the 4-in-1 Battery Terminal Brush, which you can add on to your order for $6.88, or pick it up at Harbor Freight.Also, the product looks much better than the picture. It's not straight across, it's actually in a curve, which hides the hitch much better.

2 of the 8 Curt 12343 hitch's frame holes do not align with a 2010 Toyota Camry car. The driver's side hole was slightly off but the passenger's side was half a bolt off. Amazon and the Curt website said the car is compatible but for the holes to be so far off either their design is bad or quality assurance failed. I bought Amazon Warehouse version of the hitch which was also missing the mounting hardware. Between the misaligned holes and missing mounting bolts, I should have gone with the other hitch that required drilling.

Bolted right up to my 09 camry hybrid.I have a 1 1/4 basket I put on it full of ice and will sit on it when on a site or fishing. With me and the cooler it weighs 325 lbs.Only downside I have is inclined driveways, you only get 12 inches of clearance which is okay but with a hitch on basket on the back I scrape until I learned how to "walk it off" 1 wheel at a time.I don't plan on pulling trailers so I didn't get a wiring harness so I can't say how easy it would be but I don't wanna do that on a hybrid.

Purchased to fit 2011 Camry, it fits perfectly, is sturdy and attractive. Installation requires no drilling or cutting, but requires working under car and temporarily lowering mufflers, neither in my wheelhouse, so I had a trusty mechanic install it.
