Hi, I just bought and received Type S T400 dash cam but the power cable CLA does not fit into my car's cigarette socket. It is too big to fix into the socket. I managed to get an installer to provide a socket adapter.

Despite it has great functions. Really supports the driver especially the front crash and it helps in blind spots with acceptable accuracy. BUT IF YOU ARE GOING TO USE IN A HOT COUNTRY, NEVER BUY IT. DON’T WASTE THE MONEY. It worked for me ~5 months during in Saudi and once summer started, it was stopped totally. My recommendation: it great device in mild weather only.!! Plug doesn’t fit to my VW car. Unstable and continue falling from the front glass everyday in hot summer, I used double tape to keep it mounted. The final conclusion, the idea is great but a lot of work needs to be done to improve it and be reliable device.

Mounted front and back cameras perfectly and connected with app. Lane departure works sporadically and collision warning not at all. More dangerous than not having as it doesn’t give an accurate data. Works only as a camera.

My daughter almost rear ended someone by daydreaming. So I shopped and found this product. PROS: Nice display can download app to phone and use a secondary display on the phone. Lots of neat safety features as advertised. CONS: (1) Biggest concern is how it would perform on forward collision warning. It does not appear to warn you well in advance. Like if your going 40mph and there is a car 30 feet away and you are not slowing down. It seems to warn you just before, like 5 feet away, too late by then. (2) What I like is that there is a blind side light if there is someone to the rear left or right (but not directly left or right since there is not a camera for that). My issue is it is on the device itself, where the device sits in the middle. It would be better to have these as a separate wired light where we can route to the left or right side of the car. (3) Lane departure will signal regardless if you signal or not. This is a false beep. It would be good if you could wire it as an option to the right and left turn signal so we dont get this false alert (or some other solution). (4) I notice a problem where it detected a motorcycle guy directly in front of me as a pedestrian. (5) Wish they made a wireless side cameras so it can detect blind side. (Again, it only detects rear-left and rear-right, not left and right.) I seriously wouldn't mind drilling a hole on my door for a tiny camera. They at minimum should allow an optional paid option for this so we can get entire 360 view. SUMMARY Overall, still an excellent product, especially if you're using it as a DVR. It's like getting the safety features for free. Must have for older cars! I'm hoping they improve over time.

I was looking for a camera that offered collision alert similar to OEM collision alerts. I tried a Venture but was not happy. I stumbled across the Type S T400. It works beyond my expectations plus more. It has audible alarms that gets you attention. Very Happy!
