great value, minime road to red
this set contains 6 bootlegged shows quality varies and sometimes you can clearly hear audience talk, but they score above soundboard recordings in that you can hear ecstatic audience reaction. the new version of the central park show is much improved . none of the shows are unlistenable -far from it, they supplement the road to red shows. also if you don't want ,or can't afford to spend over 100 pounds, then this for you as you also get the USA show with various versions of the asbury casino show

The defining issue of Red on disk
I have many of the prolific Wilson team remixes. Some are remarkable, some are just very good. In my opinion, none are as great as his work with XTC and King Crimson. I don't have a multichannel setup, so this review is for the stereo fold-downs.I have been looking forward to the release of this edition of Red for a few months. The pedigree of the people involved in its fruition removes the trepidation frequently associated with remaster projects, so that's the first hurdle out of the way. Will it make your teeth grate? Will it be brickwalled to oblivion ?Guaranteed no, it won't.The package itself - I love this simple format - 2 double Japanese mini lp style cd sleeves contained in a thick card outer box. It's the same format as the 2024 Larks Tongues box which is also great. The best KC package designs yet. Can't wait for Discipline. The 2024 remix is a triumph. Wilson does what he does best because he respects and understands the music he chooses to remix, and the original mixes. He injects just enough of himself to make an interesting difference, but not enough to swamp the project with egotistical markers which become embarrassing or overbearing to those who love the originals. You've never heard the sax solo section of One More Red Nightmare like this - an utterly rounded and absorbing new mix, as is Starless. Wetton is pushed right up front providing extra musical glue in all the right places. Percussion, the horn section and bits of Fripp are given a brand new prominent sound stage. To make way, Bruford sometimes takes a back seat but not enough to disturb the original atmosphere. I did miss the aggressive smack of a couple of Bruford's angry china crashes, but overall it all works very well. The Elemental Mixes are simply incredible - the title track is transformed into a post punk classic leaving the listener wondering if and how Wetton's bass survived the thorough beating it took during the recording. Honestly, if I'd heard the whole album in this mix form in my 80's youth, I'd have thought it was recorded yesterday. It's rough, ready, nasty and fantastic. I will definitely be listening to the elemental mixes a lot.I haven't got to the blu-rays yet, but having all the iterations of 'USA' on one disk is a treat, and the 4th disk is packed with everything you'd need to make this edition the defining release of Red on disk. An absolute triumph and worth every penny. 10/10.

Music that is very heavy but in a very good way
This album is much more heavier compared to the standard King Crimson albums. It is listed in one music list as one of the top 50 heaviest music produced. Almost all mixes are there including Dolby Atmos which brings out the music in ways which I have not heard on previous versions. The packaging is very good. For a rock music fan like myself, this particular release is an essential purchase. Highly recommended.
