I am using this a lot. I've been using it for soldering but it has come in handy overall as just a good magnetic surface for all of my magnets. The magnifier comes in handy when I am trying to solder a joint properly and can't afford to miss it. The clips come in handy a lot, stay still when I put them somewhere, and hold very well. I've had a wire in one clip, a circuit board in another, and the last holding the magnifier and they were all perfectly still. The magnifier definitely needs to be held if you want it in one place though, which is odd but you can use a clip easily to fix that.The build quality is great and feels real solid. No cheap parts found on it. I've accidentally touched the plastic pieces of the clips with my soldering iron on several occasions and they are still holding up great. The functionality and versatility of this tool is amazing. I bought a microscope and I use it with this to hold pieces together when I really need a good view of what I am doing and it just works like it should.

It's seems to be a decent product aside from the alligator clips which have a hole in the neck of them because they are for electrical applications not for performing the work required of them in this product. Change the clips to solid neck clips and it'll be ok otherwise expect breakage with little effort.

Why did you pick this product vs others?:Low price and good quality. What else could you want? There were some plastic washers included. Not sure where they go. The instructions could be clearer. Extra bolts and feet included in case you lose one. The alligator clips are heavy duty and hold securely.

solid base, Ive been needed one for awhile. Works as intended, base is heavy enough to not move around. Excellent functionality

Really sturdy and works perfectly! Plenty of hands to hold things while soldering, or whatever. Nice, heavy, solid base, too.

The alligator clips are just too small/don't open wide enough to properly hold many components. Guitar cable? Nope. 5W resistors? Kinda sorta.Different clips and it would be much better.Magnifying lens is large enough and has long enough stem to be useful. 4 clips means you can hold a board and wire pretty bsecurely. The goosenecks are a bit springy/stiff so it can take effort to line up things precisely.
