I've been using the Amazfit Helio Ring (size 12) for a while now, and it has truly been a game-changer for my health and well-being. I initially got it to better understand my sleep, and it has exceeded my expectations in every way.The ring's sleep tracking is incredibly detailed and insightful. It goes beyond just telling me how long I slept, providing me with valuable information about my sleep quality, including deep, light, and REM sleep cycles. What's been most helpful for me is the data on things like hypopnea episodes. This is information I can now share directly with my doctor, which has made our conversations about my sleep health so much more productive and evidence-based. The data is presented in a clear and easy-to-understand way, making it simple to track trends and identify potential issues.But the Helio Ring is more than just a sleep tracker. It also helps me document my daily life in a way I didn't expect. The data it collects on my daily reactions and mood has been fascinating. Overall, this has been a frustrating experience. The don't make very many sizes so even the largest size (12) only fit my pinky, which is my smallest digit. I have all Amazfit products and wanted to add the ring to my lineup. When it tracks, it does seem to track pretty accurately. But unfortunately, ever since purchasing it, this ring almost never collects and syncs sleep/readiness data. It will sync readiness data for a few days and then just stops working for many weeks or more. I've tried resetting, repairing, reactivating, and nothing gets it to work. It also loses bluetooth connection even when right next to my phone. This includes every night. It requires being docked to revive the connection but loses it again when wearing. The battery life is often only one day's worth. The firmware through the Zepp app won't update to the latest reported firmware. I was very excited to support this company's jump into the health ring market but unfortunately it just feels like one of the biggest purchase mistakes I've made.

This is an amazing smart ring though it does have a few minor downfalls.The sensors are extremely accurate and it collects a ton of data. At first I thought the "emotion detector" was going to be a nonsensical filler, but after being in a few stressful situations I received a notification asking if I was stressed during a certain time period. Each time it provided accurate feedback and then logged that information for later review.My personal favorite feature is the sleep sensor. As someone with sleep challenges at times it is really great to see how well I'm sleeping and what I can do to fix it.The heart rate, step counter and oxygen level monitors are phenomenal as well. Though one of the few downfalls of this ring is that if you want to track a workout you have to enable it through the Zepp app compared to similar smart rings that sense it automatically. It's not a deal breaker by any means but it can be a little annoying if you forget.The only other "complaint" I have is that the battery doesn't last as long as advertised if you have all the functions enabled. With everything enabled the battery lasts about 2 1/2 days, not bad but could be better. Not all the functions are necessary so if you don't enable the stress/emotion sensors and set the heartrate monitor to scan every 30 minutes instead of every 10 minutes I'm sure the battery will last longer.Now the main thing that convinced me to buy this ring instead of any other brands I was looking into was the fact that THERE IS NO SUBSCRIPTION!!! Normally Amazfit charges a subscription fee in the Zepp app for their other devices in order to access Zepp Aura Premium and Zepp Coach Premium. This ring gives you access to both services FOR FREE FOR LIFE!!! Zepp aura is a relaxation meditation service and Zepp Coach is an AI powered "personal trainer" of sort. I personally wouldn't pay for it if it wasn't included with the ring, but they're great add-ons.Overall for $170 this is an AMAZING smart ring if you don't want to fork over $400 plus a subscription every month for the competitors. As long as you're okay with a fairly average battery life and having to enable work out tracking yourself I think this is a pretty good option.
