A great chinese movie
This movie is highly regarded back in the day to have some impressive sword fighting.... And it definitely doesn't disappoint in terms of that. The hero in this movie is a bit tragic though, all the guy wants is to be the best swordsman in China and he gets dragged into a whole bunch of other messes to the point at the end of the movie where something tragic happens to a person he cared about.... So yeah a happy ending in the fact that he did kill the bad guy, but also a sad ending.Music felt a bit too experimental though, almost sounds a bit weird sci-fi for a Chinese movie like this... However it never took me completely out of the movie. And yes this is a movie from 1980 remastered with a 2k transfer, so the reviewer who gave it a 2 star clearly didn't know what he was buying.

An Interesting Movie
I have recently become a fan of Asian movies and so bought this movie while it was on sale. While a good movie, it is not outstanding. Still, it was interesting to watch as the hero moved through the story and the role two swords paid to the plot. In the end it is a tradgey with no happy ending. The movie flowed well and overall I did enjoy it.

Cheap production
Prime has this listed as 2023. Production graphic and quality of this film appear low budget and made in the 90s or 2000s. Music scores and themes are terrible. This is more drama than action. Couldn't watch the entire movie. Just not captivating.

Enjoyable sword actioner
Yup, I agree with the other reviewers. This is an enjoyable classic sword drama and Adam Cheng an excellent chinese sword fencer. Even in 1979 Adam was television's favorite Chinese Wuxia Swordsman starring in many Hongknog TVB RTV ATV Sword dramas, Hongkong and Taiwan swordsman movies. One famous role is that of a Ming Dynasty wuxia robin hood type warrior called Chu Lu Xiang which Ti Lung took on for Shaw Brothers in SB Classic movies like 'Clans of Intrigue'. But mention Chu Lu Xiang to anyone in Hongkong or Southeast Asia and most will immediately recall Adam Cheng who played the swordsman in a 1980 50 episode TVB drama series. Here in this delightful actioner about a wandering swordsmen testing his skill against other wandering swordsmen, Adam Cheng shines. Damn fine blade work!

Great sword fighting movie...
I remember watching this movie in the 90s when it was on vhs. Up till now, I have always wanted to watch it again and ordered it on cd. I am impressed and glad that I bought this movie because compared this sword fighting movie to all the other movies, this one deserves to be one of the top sword fighting movies ever. The only disappointment was that the villain died too fast and they should have made a better ending. Overall, great movie to watch with great memories.
