Great value and quality.
Why did you pick this product vs others?:This motor is amazing, excellent amount of torque and runs very quiet. Super easy install as well. Highly recommend this for your upcoming electric bike conversion!

Extremally smooth operation, way more power than needed for the off-street riding
I really like it. Installation was very easy and fast, and it is very smooth in operation. It adds only as much power as needed based on how hard I'm pedaling. It is so gentle with supplying the power that I can't tell when it is engaging. I ride this bike the same way, I would ride it without the motor. I pedal all the time and never use the throttle. On my longest ride, I rode 61 miles with power set to 1 (to conserve energy), with average speed of 17.5 mph, max around 22 (while pedalling, no throttle). The battery was empty on the last mile. The bike trail was almost flat. The motor with the battery added 22 lbs to the weight of my bike. Total weight is now 48 lbs, and I weight 240 lbs.I'd like to add that, I like working on bikes and I had all necessary tools except one. I had to buy a rivet nut tool ($27 including rivet nuts) and a 7mm drill bit to install additional bottle nuts in the frame, because the factory holes didn't match the holes in the battery mount. It was very easy job and I was doing this for the first time.I didn't install the brake sensors, and I don't see any advantage of having them installed. I even don't see the need for the speed sensor, but it's nice to see how fast I'm going without using additional bike computer or phone apps. There is a connector cable in the motor for the gear sensor. This sensor wasn't part of the kit but it could be very welcome. It's very inexpensive, so I considered adding it to the bike, to protect the drivetrain during gear shifting but now, after a few rides, I don't need it anymore. I quickly learned to stop pedaling for a moment while shifting and I don't experience any sudden jerks by the motor anymore. For those who don't know this, mid-drive motors pull the chain the same way biker's legs do, but the motor is much stronger and quicker, and if shifting is done under load (while pedaling), it creates very sharp jerks that can break the chain in some cases. So, the tip for others is to install the gear sensor or simply don't pedal for a moment while shifting. One more thing. This kit includes the throttle that is totally optional. Riding by using it instead of pedals is a lot of fun, and it powers the bike much better than legs giving a feeling similar to riding a motorcycle. On a test ride, on the street, I have reached 35 mph with the throttle. It was way too fast for my taste. Using the throttle discharges the battery very quickly, and it defeats the purpose of physical activity of riding a bicycle. At least for me.Customer service was extremally supportive. I installed the speed sensor incorrectly in the beginning, and it was confusing the motor's computer. They contacted me immediately and explained how it should be done. The sensor has to be perfectly perpendicular to the magnet, but mine was at a steep angle, because there was not enough space between the frame and the spokes. I solved it by removing the zip tie mount from the sensor, and I glued it to the frame with silicon. This kit is not a plug and play addition to the bike. Every bike has a different frame, and sometimes you have to be creative during the installation. My bike is 2005 Marin Larkspur. The motor noise is practically non-existent.I don't ride bikes in traffic anymore, so I compare this bike to a non-powered bike. If I was riding it on streets, I would pay more attention to top speeds and the battery performance on higher power levels. At this time, I don't know those things.

Works well, needs better instructions
I was pleased that to be able to install this on a recumbent bike for an older person. I would give it five stars were it not for the absolutely horrible and outdated instructions - the product delivered does not quite match the one pictured in the instructions or in the videos I found on YouTube, but it was easy enough to figure out the cabling based on connector types and colors. The speed sensor cable is also too short for a recumbent, but everything works ok without it. The ride is smooth and feels solid.Since the battery is designed to be mounted where a water bottle cage goes, I used wire ties to attach it to the frame and also threaded them through the hole in the front of the battery slip to keep it in place. I considered drilling and tapping holes for it, but want to test it out before making a permanent change to the bike frame. Also, it’s IMPORTANT that the motor rest against the frame on its forward edge when you install it, or it will rotate there at some point after you put it in. There is no “fixing block” in the package or any means of attaching one as indicated in the instructions.

Great product and great seller.
Kit worked great and seller was super helpful. You can really feel the difference with a true dual crank torque sensor.

Great!
Easy to put onto my Northrock XC6, seller was very helpful when I messed up and needed a different part (the battery did not fit into my frame). The motor itself feels really nice to use; the first e-bike I had was a cadence sensor and WOW the torque sensor is so much nicer. And it's quiet -- I almost didn't believe it was on.

Incomplete kit
Cables too short, no screw to hold throttle in place, wrong led screen (came with 5 pin instead of 8 pin). I am still buying parts to get this working. I have no idea if this is a good purchase or not since the kit does not come with everything needed.

Not working
Received, installed, charged battery will not power up. Cannot find customer support contact.Update, working with customer service to troubleshoot.Final update, Worked through testing with technician, found a battery fuse was blown. Replaced and things seem fine. The motor is quiet annd strong. The torque sensor seems very good. Will ride more when assembly is cleaned up but this seems to be a very nice kitLeft at 4 stars because it did not come in working, but they resolved the issues.
