I’m Not an Audiophile, But These Made Me Feel Like One
People say the ATH-M50xBT2 LABs are just overpriced M50xBT2s… but they look cool and still sound amazing. Like, I get it — it’s a reference headphone, it’s not trying to color the sound. But everything I threw at it? Still felt crisp. Loud. Clean.I’ve taken a bunch of compression tests — flunked most of them. 2 out of 6, I was straight up guessing. I couldn’t tell a thing. Everything sounded great, even in Bluetooth mode. So maybe I’m not that “audiophile-type” with superhuman ears, but with Boom 3D on my Mac and the M50 profile loaded up? It just hits.Battery life? Long haven't charged them yet and use them daily plugged in mostley but BT when I need to move around the house and the distance is crazy longI've dropped these three times already due to using cords just not used to it yet — no scuffs, no issues, still sound like the day I opened them.Full disclosure: I swapped the pads. Tried Brainwavz and Yaxi Pads (STPad2s). The Yaxis changed everything. More comfort, better seal, better sound. They made these way more enjoyable than the stock pads or the Brainwavz Pro.Bluetooth volume is lower than wired, yeah — but still sounds great. And honestly? I’m probably nuking my ears with how loud I normally listen, so it’s probably doing me a favor. It just feels good knowing I got a studio set that delivers, feels solid, and has proven long-term value. Everyone says these last 2+ years easy, and I believe it.I also own AirPods Pro 2 — and these crush them on clarity. I know, it’s apples and oranges comparing over-ear to in-ear, but these easily beat my AirPods Pro 1s. And the battery life isn’t even close — M50s win that too.If your ears are picky, these are solid cans. The angled driver sits just right, and the fit’s perfect even for my big head — I don’t even need to adjust the band. No pressure, no fatigue.Bottom line? Clean sound, strong build, real comfort, stupid good battery. I'm keeping these in rotation for a long time.

Decent seeming quality for price.
I gave these a try because of the super high ratings they always get. However, I ended up returning for 4 reasons:1. Felt just a little bit cheap for the price. Not terrible but lighter than I expected and plastic-y.2. The head band is actually not as comfortable as I would have expected in a $160 headphone. It looks super cushy, but it's not. Again, it's not bad, just not what I would have expected at this price point.3. The main thing I didn't like was the deeply recessed and non standard 2mm headphone jack. They do give you 3 cords of varying types which is nice but being tied to a proprietary design for such a standard thing is just dumb imo. So... not for me.4. Also, the ear cups seems very small even for me who has a small head and small ears. LOL.I will say the sound test I did before I packed them back up sounded great.

Quality & sound
This is my 2nd unit, gave the 1st one to my son after 9 years, great sound, comfy, detachable wires are great for portability & to replace the one that is worn out,

Great Headset!
Great sound quality at any volume and it’s well made. The headset cuts out outside noise almost completely. Might fit tightly around some people’s ears, but the headset will rest comfortably on your head.

Not For Windows
If you are looking for some general use headphones for windows 10 these are not it.The criteria I was looking to satisfy:-Quality sound for listening to music, online media, and video game immersion.-Mic for occasional chatting via discord.-Noise cancelling as much as possible, I want the outside world to disappear when I have headphones on.-Wireless. Too many times I get up to do something 6 feet away only to have my corded headset act as a leash.-Usable on a windows machine.I am not taking stars off for sound quality when in headphone mode, but I did learn I don't like studio quality headphones as the sound is very flat and I like more bass as it turns out. Very neutral sound from these.Comparison is to an old coolermaster MH670 which someone recommended to me. I didn't even know they made headsets until then. I've since purchased Bose for comparison since I've heard those are typically more bass focused. Here are the main issues I have with the ATH m50xbt2, especially having to do with my use case on a widows os:1. If you try to use headset mode, it will turn on aware mode. I tried all sorts of tricks from others on various forums who had this problem. Disabling devices, uninstalling drivers, pairing and unpairing. I could hear myself typing, clicking, the fan in my room, everything.2. If you decide you just won't use it in headset mode and keep it as a pair of listening headphones you have to delete or disable the headset variant of the driver it installs every time you pair it. So every power cycle at least.3. Maybe it would be fixable if I paired the headset to my phone AND to the PC simultaneously, installed their app on my phone and manually controlled the headset from there. No. I'm not doing all that. I want to keep my phone at minimal apps installed. I read online this was a "fix" but I didn't try it personally. Too many apps out there just siphoning your data.4. Band makes it tight on head but that's just personal comfort. The size of the ear pads were fine for me however. It's really too bad as I had heard good things from others about the m50x but I would avoid using these on a windows machine. Personally that won't work for me so I'll have to see about returning these. I don't experience any of these headaches with the Bose I got to compare. The other headsets default sound profile also is a better fit to my listening preference.

SOUND AMAZING!!!!
Very good Low's Mid's & High's!!!I am a music producer with a Bachelors degree in Music Production, A part time DJ and a Worship Leader/Audio Visual Tech. I've been using a pair of Sennheiser HD 280 Pro's for 13 years and although they sound great, they have nothing on these Audio-Technica ATH-50XLAB Headphones! These things sound so smooth & crisp on all levels. Great for the Music Production Studio and for everyday music listening.Very light & comfortable!
