Could NOT be more happy...
I have struggled with negative displays previously so I was hesitant. I took the plunge and holy CRAP I love this watch. The legibility of this screen is just unbelievable albeit requiring a tilt of the wrist as needed. At night with auto-illumination on, the display could NOT be more clear. This backlight is just fantastic and works so well.I added a set of bull bars to this watch and it enhances the already amazing durability of the watch as well. With its 200M of water resistance, this will EASILY handle every water exposure need that will ever need. Guess I'll have to call off my Bering Strait dive though. :-)This was could not be easier to use for sure. Very simple, clean interface, full of features for every activity, it literally hits the bill perfectly.Although it is NOT solar powered, for the money, you can't go wrong. If you are looking for solar power and MultiBand 6 to boot, look no further than the GW-M5610U-1B. While having a bit busier screen, this would be the closest one to this DW-5600 model.Don't think twice. Just buy it. NOW!

Very Nice
Overall, it’s a fantastic watch! The only downside was the initial setup, as the instructions were a bit unclear. Once I figured it out, though, everything worked perfectly.

I wanted to like it! It's just hard to read in non ideal conditions.
Bit about me:I've slowly gotten into watches over the years. The first watch I purchased was a Rodina (a Bahaus knock off). I then took a setup and bought a Tissot Visodate. Just on Black Friday, I "really" got into watches, and purchased probably around 6K in watches, though I'll be returning a lot of them. Some things I bought: Sternglas (cheap, returning), 2 Baume et Mercier watches (around 3K total, but returning), 2 Orient Bambino watches (returning), Orient Polaris GMT (returning), 2 Seiko Presage Oyster dial (keeping), and a Nomos Club Sport. So I'm sort of into it.So here's the deal: I mostly wear black. I always thought G Shocks looked sort of dumb until this one, with the minimalist face, and the all black look. IF this watch face had visibility, it would be 5 stars. The utterly reality, is that off center, analog watches beat digital watches. There's a certain angle you need to have your wrist in, for "all" digital watches, for them to be able to display (even with the lume). The benefit you get with the digital watch face, is an incredibly accurate, cheap, informational piece, along with durability (usually), and they usually don't look as horrendous as most analog durable watches. So that's why I bought this G-Shock. The only deal, is the off angle is even worse for the black face watches. I don't know about you, but there's value of being able to see the time on my wrist, without explicitly turning my wrist to the correct angle. It's an even worse situation in ambient light. I "ideally" want to be able to see the time,Long story short: the digital watch face is dubious in of itself, if you want to "maximize" the viewing angle. You get the digital face to get durability, and information, in exchange for the viewing angle. The viewing angle, and just general visibility in ambient light, for this watch, is just... not ideal. If you work outside, in the sun, standing up all the time... I can "totally" see how this would work for you. But for everyone who wants to read time either in ambient light settings, or wants to read the time in social situations where you don't want to explicitly roll your wrist to your face, or if you commonly find yourself gauging the general time off angle... you're going to want to consider the digital watches, let alone the black one.

Fantastic!
Hands down my favorite watch. I use it every day for work. The pros:The auto-repeating timer is a life saver! Frankly, I'm disappointed more gshocks don't have that. It's something you never really realize you want till you have one, and then there is no going back. The watch itself keeps time accurate to 2-3 seconds a month for me, mine runs a little fast. The green backlight is great for night, but shows well in any dim light. The viewing angle doesn't bother be at all, I'm always able to read it when I want. The screen really is decent all around, zero complaints there. The alarm is loud enough to let you know it's going off, but it wouldn't wake me from a deep sleep. The alarm also only runs for ten seconds, which again wouldn't wake me personally. If you're looking for something super tough and reliable, you've found it here. Oh, I also put a bull bar in it, and it's taken some serious hits but keeps ticking. The cons I can think of:The band ended up hurting my wrist where it attaches to the case, and the resin band itself is not great. I went with Jays&Kays replacement 16-22mm small profile metal strap adapters with the link ends, and a 22mm silicon band. I don't even notice the watch is on my wrist some days, it's that comfortable. I really recommend Jays&Kays for any square gshock (since that's all I've used them for). It's a bit pricey up front, but I promise it's worth it. Plus it makes it look so good. The light switches off it you hit any buttons instead of increasing the backlight time so you can see what you're doing. I. Hate. That. If you've played with a timex, when you hit the light button, not only does it stay on, but it'll be on the entire time you're setting something up, such as an alarm. Not this watch. There second you click anything else, shuts the light right off.Things I wish it had:The interface oh a timex Ironman. I don't use certain things, and would have loved to hide those. Would also have liked to fix the light thing mentioned earlier. Wish I didn't need to get the band done that way, as it takes another 40 to get it super comfy. Although, you could just get a combi bracelet and call it good, they are super comfy too. That's about it. It's a great work watch, and you really can't beat a Casio g-shock square.

Will buy more from Casio watches.
