As a long-time fan of the Assassin's Creed series, I eagerly dove into Assassin's Creed Odyssey on PS4, and I can confidently say that this installment has redefined what an open-world adventure can be! Set against the backdrop of ancient Greece, Odyssey offers an unforgettable journey filled with exploration, combat, and storytelling.Breathtaking Open World:The first thing that strikes you about Odyssey is its breathtaking world. The graphics are stunning, showcasing the beauty of Greece in all its glory—from the sun-kissed beaches to the towering mountains and bustling cities. Each location is rich with detail, making exploration a joy. Whether you’re sailing the Aegean Sea or wandering through Athens, the scale and beauty of this world are truly impressive.Engaging Storyline and Characters:Odyssey weaves a compelling narrative that allows you to shape your adventure through choices and character development. You can choose to play as Alexios or Kassandra, each offering a unique perspective on the unfolding story. The depth of the characters you encounter, from influential historical figures to relatable companions, adds emotional weight to your journey. The blend of mythology and history creates an engaging narrative that kept me invested throughout the game.Diverse Gameplay and Exploration:The gameplay mechanics are incredibly diverse, providing players with a robust RPG experience. You have the freedom to approach missions in a variety of ways—whether you prefer stealth, combat, or diplomacy. The skill tree allows for customization, letting you tailor your character to fit your preferred playstyle. Additionally, the side quests are rich and rewarding, offering a myriad of adventures that enhance the overall experience.Naval Combat and Exploration:One of the highlights of Odyssey is the naval combat, which is an exhilarating addition to the series. Amazing game
I absolutely love that game. It was my first AC game and I love it. The story is very good, even though it can feel like you’re running errand for different people in order to obtain information. The character is very likeable too (you can play as Alexios, or his sister Kassandra). One thing I liked is you can make choices during some conversations and cut scenes, which slightly affects the story.Regarding the side quests, some of them can be a little boring but fairly quick, just doing a task for someone, and some can be more enjoyable as there is more of a backstory to it. Same goes for quest lines, they can feel like a whole different story with multiple quests, which still give you lots to do once you’ve finished the main story.Overall really enjoyed that game, still have a lot of things to do, basically unlimited fun, definitely worth it.

Brilliant game and great VFM
NegativesGame assumes you have played one of previous games in franchise and doesn't give you too many hints of how to play early onSome may find it a bit grindy at times (I didn't)The accents and pronunciations are a bit offGame loading time isn't fastPersonally although I love the combat I'm not great at it and it can be difficult remembering all the different combinations of button presses and what they do, especially when deep in combat with multiple enemies. If you find a challenge to difficult there is no option to skip it. All you can do is reduce difficulty.PositivesUnder £13 for a game this good is insane VFMGame is massive. I realised this when after playing for 7 hours I got a screen welcoming me to the start of the game. I have just clocked over 220 hours and completed the main quests (along with many side quests). I assume I will easily get to 300 hours before I call it a day.Its very addictive. Always find yourself wanting to just get to the next quest. The quests are very varied and there are lots and lots and lots of them. The characters are relatable. Some of the right decisions you make turn out to be the wrong ones (I liked this)The progression system is very good. The highest level you can reach is 99. I'm on 68 at the time of writing but I guess you could finish the game at maybe 55.Summary.My favourite game I have played include The last of us, days gone and horizon zero dawn. This is not as good as those, but its close and for under £13 its an absolute bargain.Just buy it.
