Amazon Kids Kindle.
Very good, a bit smaller than I expected but it is actually perfect for my child. They are now reading more than ever which is lovely to see.Amazon Kids+ is a nice addition, but it does have a limited selection of books with quite a few titles available at extra cost.Still, my child is happy, the battery seems to be lasting a long time. The display itself is very clear and easy to use and it is responsive to the touch.The case is good quality too, which is an added bonus.

Kindles are wonderful things.
I was stuck for a big Christmas present for my grandson. I'd got some Lego...and some books.., but I wanted something...better..... Then I saw this Kindle...specially for kids! My Kindle is, honestly, THE best thing I've ever bought. You can take it anywhere. You don't need an electric connection, or the internet, or even your glasses! It's not heavy to hold, it has its own light and you can keep a HUGE library on it without taking up space in your house. FAB! Now my grandson is exploring his, reading along with his bedtime story. And I'm hoping, when he gets older, he'll love his as much as I do mine. And he LOVES the whale cover. Thank you so much.

Touch screen and perfect for kids. Backlighting just right!
Perfect for my 7 year old grandson (and any child capable of reading many books). Great back lighting and books available that are age appropriate. I would certainly recommend this product as it’s portable, great for bed or travel and very easy to use.

Not for kids, it's a scam full of ads, unless you pay Amazon Kids
I bought this version for my 10-year-old so that she could read without ads, but it seems Amazon no longer has an ads-free Kindle. If you want a free ads device for your child, paying for it won't do it; the only way is to pay the Amazon Kids subscription eternally. I am not buying or recommending Kindle anymore.Amazon UK support could not help me after 6 chats, 2 mails, and an international call, they just don't know what to do. I even paid to disable ads, nop, still there, it really feels like a scam. Other than the Amazon Kids very expensive suscription, I don't see what's better in this Kindle than a cheaper regular one.

Beautiful case and easy use
Bought this for my daughter for Christmas. She loves the included case, whose design is beautiful.The kindle itself downloads books easily when in range of the wifi and the size is perfect for putting in her handbag (she's been taking it everywhere!). She's almost 10 and has picked it up easily enough and her younger sister (7) can use it too. We haven't charged the battery yet and she started using it straight out of the box, so battery life seems good. It's lightweight so doesn't weigh down your hands, similar to weight of a smartphone. It comes with Amazon kids included for a period of time, which has meant she can download lots of books without me having to pay for any so far (she reads avidly). All in all a good little e-reader.

Get children to read!
The latest datela on children's reading is that they are reading less than before. As a teacher phonics is a challenge and motivating a child to read a book, not necessarily of their choosing is hard. My son has ADHD and his school reading scheme is archaic. They have to read the Oxford reading tree levels which are old and boring. I had to purchase our own books of his interest level within the Oxford tree just to get him to read. Luckily he is finally a free reader. So as a gift I purchased him the kindle. He is reading every night, by choice before bedtime. The batter with persistent use has last a week from initial charge. He can adjust the size of the font, screen light all by himself and he can download books of interest to him.My only complaint is the limitation of books available under the kindle kids membership. Some well known books are not available and the kindle isn't sorted to have age-related books to his age. His home page (for a 9 year old) has Blippy and Bing Bunny. The kindle does not have the 'How to Train your Dragon' collection which is going to be a major motion picture and has limited new writers. Not all children love Harry Potter.The bonus, I can share my books with his kindle.

Good size
Bought this for my daughter, she absolutely loves it. Easy to use, light weight & comes with a hard cover. Menu is easy to navigate & set up only took 5 min.
