Letters to a Young Poet (Penguin Classics Hardcover) Hardcover – 26 Mar. 2013

I've often seen extracts of the letters and have finally purchased my copy of the letters. I absolutely love them. They're pretty much the manual to life that got lost in the post when I was born. Rainer is a gift to our planet and I feel like these letters will be a source I'll reach for every now and then for comfort and empowerment.I higly recommend this for poets (obviously) but also anyone who want to inspired and touched, for those who rebel the conventional ways and the free-spirited. Honestly, I believe it will believe it will benefit everyone and anyone.

This is a brilliant book! Definitly worth reading if you like poetry. The 10 letters are all suberb and I found the notes at the back very useful in providing additional context. Brilliant book!

I'm not going to comment on the writing, as this is dealt with well by other reviewers. It's a classic.I bought this edition because it cost 1p new and I needed a cheap second copy of the book for annotating etc. Despite the low price, the text layout inside is perfectly good. It is a facsimile of a 1945 edition, in a decent translation, and includes a Translator's Foreword and endnotes, which provide context. A slight quibble is the cover quality - it's shiny and, to my mind, a little cheap looking. But overall, a bargain!
