EASYCARE Protec Fountain Scale-Stain Inhibitor/Remover

I bought this for cleaning the scale from my outside 3 tiered hand carved mexican fountain. It worked as stated. After a while, the scale slowly disappears and maintains prevention of buildup. I did have to sand/scrape/file the heavy buildup that the Protec couldn't remove but understanding that this buildup was over 6 years old. Expensive but it works, just follow the directions and don't over use it would be wasting the product. My fountain runs 24/7 year around (Arizona) and is 22 years old and looks great. I used to spend 20 - 60 hours trying to remove the scale, the longer I put off the job, the bigger the buildup, the longer/harder to remove, this was before I found Protec. If the treated water can reach the scale, it can remove/dissolve it, I may have to scrape/sand the splash area but it still is easier to remove than not having treated water. Oh, by the way, the humingbirds (lots of them) still can drink and bath in the water without ill effects.

This product does exactly as described, and does it very well. Fountains are a big deal in Newport Coast; we built a couple of large ones, including a rock (river rock) wall, where water flows down at 6K gallons per hour. Prior to using this product, I removed all leaves and debris, drained, and added fresh water, then added some of this product, along with bromine in a floater (bromine has been my choice to prevent algae). After 12 hours of running the pump, the calcium stains began to disappear, and a week later they are about 80% gone -- WITH NO SCRUBBING. Couldn't be happier with the results. Have another fountain with a large mosaic wall and 4 tall ceramic urns -- going to attach that one next -- same way.

I have a three tiered water fountain that probably holds 7 gallons of water or so. After a month's use, I'm satisfied with the prevention of buildup. It didn't remove much of the existing mineral deposits, but I'm just happy it's doing a good job of keeping the fountain clear.

This product keeps our fountain clean. It is easy to use.

I use this product monthly but still have a great deal of mineral deposits and calcium that develops over the rocks of my bubbler fountain. Its very discouraging to spend this kind of $ and still see this!

I've used this stuff or years - first in an Italian bowl and Italian fountain and it was great and safe for birds. Then we moved and now have used it in our drilled green granite rock bubbler. It does a great job! Keeps it clean and is safe for wildlife. We're on a well so this is necessary to keep the stains down on the huge rock. I used to purchase this from the company direct, but they don't sell it retail anymore. I found it on Amazon and am relieved they can send it to me.

I use this product to remove and prevent scale buildup on a large courtyard fountain. It removed some preexisting scale from the fountain surfaces. I also find that the fountain pump is working better, which I suspect is an indication that scale was removed from the pump interior and the fountain tubing. I saw some similar looking products elsewhere, but at much higher prices, so the price for this product seems reasonable.
