Balancing & Clarifying Serum, Multi-Active Solution for Oil Control and Pore Refinement, 1 Fl Oz

Kind of blown away by how well this controls my t-zone shine. I'm 43 and have tried every shine control product under the sun and this is the first one to do the job. I made it through the entire work day yesterday without having to blot once! And it's so affordable! I am pairing it with The Ordinary Natural Moisturizing Factors Gel Moisturizer.

A great formula for acne-prone skin. I felt like this serum really helped calm my skin and rebalance it after a year of stress and maybe too many active ingredients. It did better than 2 months with a facialist. Great value for money and I think it works for my skin type. Like other Ordinary formulas, it sometimes causes other skincare/makeup to pill, so just a word of warning if you're layering multiple products to let it dry down first. Doesn't dry sticky, leaves a slight glowy/dewy finish.

I'm still in early days testing this...but the ingredient list is 5 stars. It is a very thin watery serum. So if layering, it would go first. If you have redness or oiliness, it's worth testing. Everyone's skin is different, but the ingredients are for ppl with more sensitive problem skin. I apply this serum along with the TO Multi-Antioxidant serum. No issues, no irritation. I do love The Ordinary and have many of their products.

It helps to clear the skin on the face

Amazing balancing serum, this is part of my morning and evening routine. It is so smooth and light weight on your skin. It works as intended. Absorbed right into the skin and works immediately

I tried to use this product to control my oil issues that were occurring from my acidic toner (I only found out it was from the toner and switched it later, this item was a first attempt to fix my issues) the product stated it helps with oiliness and balances the face so I figured I’d give it a shot. Problem was, this says it will help balance but my oil issues didn’t improve with multiple uses of this product. I’m sure it’s helped others with different issues so check other reviews but to fix my oil T zone, I switched to a gentle toner, not an acidic one. Specifically, the milky toner from The Ordinary. So definitely check other reviews regarding this product cause I didn’t have a great experience but it didn’t affect my skin negatively. So 3/5 stars.

I am going to share my full skincare routine and my related skin concerns following the photo description. The pictures associated with this review are before (left photos) and after (right photos); as well as no skin makeup (top photos) and with skin makeup (bottom photos). The foundation used in the bottom photos is Glossier’s Skin Perfecting Tint and Glossier’s Concealer. 1 and 2 were already the routine. 3 and 4 are what I added. 1 - Cleanser, Panoxyl Acne Foaming Wash. Main Ingredient: Benzoyl Peroxide. Purpose: Bacteria Killer; reduces bacterial acne. 2 - Serum, The Ordinary. Main Ingredients: Niacinamide 10% + Zinc 1%. Purpose: Reduce inflammation, minimize pores. 3 - Serum, The Ordinary Brightening and Clarifying Serum. Main Ingredients: Sarcosine, L-Carnitine, Polylysine, Adenosine, N-Acetylglucosamine, Ectoin, Lactococcus Ferment Lysate. Purpose: Minimize shine, Promote Healthy Barrier, Improve Skin Texture. 4 - Moisturizer, The Ordinary Natural Moisturizing Factors + HA. Main Ingredients: Sodium Hyaluronate, Arginine, Sodium PCA, PCA, Lactates, Lactic Acid, and Minerals. Purpose: Smoother, Moisturized Skin. No need to write anything else, really. The pictures speak for themselves! So pleased to finally have found a skincare routine that targets all my concerns and is quite affordable.

I’ve used this serum for about a year, and I really see an improvement in my skin texture, and a decrease in my acne. I like it because it’s got a great viscosity without being too thick, and because I use more than one serum that’s perfect for me. I used to use a serum that was 4 times the cost of this one, and have to note my skin looks clearer and more hydrated with this serum.

Have a real problem with acne (oily skin) but using this post breakout across my skin has really contributed to ease the size of my breakouts, the frequency of them and the marks left behind. It’s non comedogenic and gentle on my sensitive skin. I struggled for ages to find the right products for me and honestly I found Cerave oil control moisturising gel cream as well as the Cerave Blemish Control Cleanser to work wonders. I still have breakouts but I’ve gone from a full face of acne while using simple for years to a bit spotty and some good skin days within weeks after makin these changes. Also love the blue star face patches for me at least they really work and for the big ones that keep coming back I do go for Mario drying lotion I know it’s not the best for you but my oily skin takes it fine

Great product leaves skin feeling extremley soft. I have extremley sensitive skin and I am unsure if this clogged my poures when used however currently removed and reintroducing. Regardless such a great product really light weight and super soft after application
