Classic EquineWestern Saddle Pad

I have a high withered appaloosa mare and this pad does wonders for saddle fit. Everything about my saddle fit her except the wither (it wasn't causing rubs, it sat just above the wither, but not far enough for me to be comfortable to say it fit her). This brought the saddle up so I could fit 3 fingers between the pad and the saddle from barely fitting a pinky before. Great quality pad, well worth the money. Leather on it is high quality and soft. This pad will last my mare a lifetime and I will be buying more of them if other horses need a correctional like she did. UPDATE 09/20/2016 DO NOT use this pad with saddles that are well fitted to your horse. Went on an 11 mile ride over the weekend and used this pad with my mare's newer saddle. Due to injury and other circumstances this was the first time I was able to use the pad with the saddle I recently purchased for her. The new saddle fits her to a T, high wither and all. The padding on the front of this pad caused the saddle to tilt back and rub a half-dollar sized sore on her spine and rub her loins raw on either side of her spine. Please note, I DO NOT blame the pad for this as I was not using it as intended, this is more of just a warning. If your saddle fits your horse well, this is not the pad you need. My older saddle doesn't fit my mare like it should and this pad did a great job correcting that. If your saddle is a little too wide or doesn't sit level on your horse then this pad is GREAT. I'm not taking any stars away because the issue was MY fault.

Love this heavy duty pad for my light weight saddle. Did not do well with an Australian Box saddle. It slipped and the saddle spun when I mounted. Used an old Navajo style Mexican blanket between the two and it stopped slippage. Have not tried it on English or Polo. Worked great on 80lb western. Well made. And easy to store.

I hesitated to buy a nearly $200 pad for quite some time as I am a recreational, not a competitive rider..... Enter Dakota. We recently adopted a 16 hh 20? y.o. Quarter horse. He came from a neglect situation and despite putting on good weight, the muscle mass just isn't there right now. He has very high withers and little padding in the way of fat along the topline. He is sound, good feet, ready to ride with many years of happy trails ahead of him according to the vet but, I felt guilty riding him in a regular pad. With my old wool pad I saw evidence of uneven pressure points after an easy 10 minute ride. I wanted him to feel as good as he could on our gentle "get back into shape" rides, this pad made a huge difference! Nice, even, sweat patterns and a more relaxed horse with more pep in his step.

Great pad

This pad is amazing. Came before expected time. Fits my horse great I have had no issues with it sliding what so ever. The material underneath wicks the sweat away and when I take the pad off it dries off completely within minutes. Highly recommend. Only gave a 4 star because the brown leather on the sides looks worn already. But over all durable reliable product. Great for my gaming/drill horse.

i absolutely love this pad! i had never used one until i bought this one, this pad fixed my saddle fit and gives great wither relief. i highly recommend this for horses with high withers or less muscle in that area.

Seems like a good product. Seems well made. Felt is very still and scratchy. My horse is a gray with very sensitive skin. She hates this pad. Put it on, she bucked, shook her whole body, bit at my saddle. Never even able to get on her. Took pad off, put old pad on and went riding. Princess needs a softer pad. Hope this pad works great for others.

We were looking for a saddle pad that would lift off the saddle from the withers of the horse, making a tee-pee. This saddle pad did just that for our horse. The pad provided the protection we needed for our horse. It is very thick and has such a nice thick material that is easy to clean. It also evenly distributed weight. Go grab this one if your looking for a new saddle pad!

For the price point this pad exceeded my expectations. The colours are quite vibrant and would look great on almost all horses. The merino wool fleece bottom is both soft and absorbent. Rode for 2.5+ hours up hills and the pad not only held up but kept him dry. Great job Classic Equine. My only desire is it was contour but other than that you really cant go wrong with this saddle pad.

Very well designed pad from classic equine, fits my very wide draft x perfectly I especially like the way the pad is in two half's allowing it to move with him rather than other pads that work against his broad shoulders. Feels almost like a hard memory foam its nice and soft but not to soft I'm sure this will last me years to come :) well worth the money I'll defiantly be buying another one of these in the future!
