An Absolute Kitchen Catastrophe!
This "compact" roti maker is anything but convenient; it's a bulky, useless paperweight. The electric heating element is woefully inadequate, resulting in dough that's either raw and sticky or burnt to a crisp in patches. The "detachable handle" feels flimsy and makes applying even pressure nearly impossible, leading to misshapen, unevenly cooked discs that vaguely resemble tortillas. Tip: Save your money and stick to a rolling pin; you'll get better results with less frustration. Cleaning this contraption is a nightmare, with dough stubbornly clinging to every crevice. Don't even think about making multiple rotis quickly; this machine is slower than making them by hand. This roti maker is a complete waste of counter space and a monumental kitchen fail with no gift value either. It's more likely to induce rage than delicious flatbread.

I had a feeling the plastic handle wouldn’t last!
I had a feeling it wouldn’t last when I saw that the handle was plastic and the part on the machine is plastic as well. The handle didn’t feel sturdy but I couldn’t find a machine where the handle wasn’t plastic. I was excited to have this for making tortillas and I’ve used it about 5 times within 3 months and it broke this morning. The machine would be great if the handle wasn’t made out of plastic- when something is heating up to high temps, cheap plastic is going to crack. I now just put the dough in and using an oven glove, press on the top to flatten it.

Must have
Absolute time saver. Sounds like souls from the depths of hell trying to escape, but makes one hell of a tortilla.

Not a tortilla maker!
This little machine seems like a great idea. I wanted a non-stick tortilla press or maker to replace the manual press/plastic bag cut in two/griddle setup. This makes great tortillas, but the plastic bag thing is a torment. Based on the product description this press does it all. But it doesn't. It is a hot food press - that part works great, and I would imagine to make roti or naan, it would work fine. But, I don't want to make roti or naan, I want to make corn tortillas. The non-stick part works really well. It is so non-stick that the dough shoots out of the front if you don't hold it down until the press is closed. However, once the cooking starts, it is an epic fail as a tortilla maker. I messed with the recipe, messed with the pressure, messed with the cooking process and every single tortilla came out like the one in the picture. It produces a sort of a lumpy, crispy something sort of reminiscent of hash browns; it ain't a tortilla. This was the only product of this kind that didn't come with an Amazon warning of high return rates. Maybe it's because they don't sell many of this particular brand. I'm returning mine. Buyer beware.

Avoid- Cheap plastic on the top of the unit broke after 4-5 uses.
Cheap plastic on the top of the unit broke after 4-5 uses. Can no longer use the press handle. I liked it when it worked, but it has no durability due to the materials used.

Item damaged
Ordered for my elderly Mother. I am out of state working so I trusted that the item would be in great shape. It was damaged and she can barely walk so she wont be able ro return it because she is walker dependant. She has not been able to use it since she's been sick, so it stayed in a box. When she took it out, the cord was damaged and wouldn't warm up whatsoever. Need refund pls.
