Great
Loved the book, real nice read and an incredible amount of information. On the fun side of it, he bashed Erich Von Dannikne many times in the book, but now he works with him on the AA series, he was not a believer on the AA theory back then.

A series of fascinating findings and treasure
Having travelled a vast mysterious land of South America, experienced strenuous journeys, met up with various local people and fellow explorers, and undertaken extensive research, David Hatcher Childress had produced a series of comprehensive accounts of lost cities and ancient mysteries of South America. In terms of archaeology, Inca Trail and its civilization is arguably one of the most famous archaeological sites in the world. David Hatcher Childress and his explores travel through unmapped areas of rein forest and desert of the mountainous areas, and discover heaps of monuments, including the mummies which were thought to be 3,000 years older than Egyptian mummies, city walls of ancient places, abode buildings, traces of artificial tunnel system, and living dinosaurs, etc, all of which have not been identified with modern technology due to the dense forest and insufficient transport networks. The book contains black and white photos of ancient buildings, city walls and maps and sketches of the ancient civilization and beasts, all of which are convincing resources and documents of past thriving civilization, which may well have existed inland of the South America Continent. They were all relevant to a series of findings described in the book.David Hatcher Childress included the details of daily problems of food and money whilst travelling with extremely erratic transport services e.g. freight train and infrastructure systems and discovers some uncanny episodes of the local people's life, e.g. snuff movies, which the producers deliberately kill the living creature for filming. This is one of the most interesting and informative travel writing with heaps of unknown archaeological findings. It is well worth reading!

Damaged item
Disappointed with the condition of this book. It's quite an expensive book and when it arrived it was damaged on the spine, which is significant as this is the view of the book when it's on the bookshelf. I bought it as a father day gift which I will be giving in June but not happy as the recipient may be as disappointed as I am. This is the reason for the 2 stars...
