Runs hot but I believe that's normal for these things, I'm using it for my Ubiquti DR7 to free up a LAN port. This 10gbe variant is no doubt overkill for an rj45 cable but, I figured it leaves lots of head room for future upgrades and getting 2.5gb down an ethernet cable in a few years probably won't be much of a stretch, I also figured if a 10gbe unit isn't running at 100% it would run cooler, but I'm not sure this logic panned out as it's very hot. But most importantly for this has added no noticeable latency to my connection, it around 8ms prior and checking the logs on my router now my ping for the past 24hrs has been 7-8ms... And researching transceivers seems to suggest it adds nanoseconds worth of latency which doesn't even register on an ms scale. So all in all, happy with my purchase and freeing up an ethernet port on my router in the process.

I've installed this 10Gbe SFP+ module in an Engenius ECS2512 switch and it works great. I ordered the 80m version as it uses the Broadcom chipset which runs a cooler.

I'm using it in my Mikrotik RB5009UG+S+ router. I tried several modules, the most of them are crazy hot (80 C) in case of 10Gbps operation. This one has rock solid 60-65 C temperature. (I have SFP-10G-T vendor version 2).

Tested in Intel and Mellanox SFP+ PCIe cards with freebsd and debian and work fine.

I have used 10Gtek products before specially their DAC cables and they all work. This SFP to Rj45 just works even with Unifi however, it does run quite hot so be careful.

Despite the headline of this saying it's not compatible with Juniper devices, this 10Gb SFP+ RJ45 module DOES work with Juniper devices, on the condition that you do not configure 10G FDX on the end device. So if you have a Juniper device, get the one that is specifically coded to work with Juniper. This isn't a total loss for me, I'm getting some ubiquiti equipment that this SFP will be going into.

Product1 10Gtek 30M - This product is overheating like nothing I've ever seen. This module is reaching temperatures above 85 degree during idling. Returned and bought 10Gtek Sfp+ 10Gbe 80M Doesn’t overheat and works perfectly fine with my Unifi Cloud Fiber. Superb

Had to return as kept dropping out requiring removal and insertion to be reconsidered, might have been a bad unit but made me Just buy a branded unit

Works well at full 10G speed with my Qnap an and Neatgear switch!
