I ordered these as a gamble, I have had very bad luck with chestnuts from local sources the past few years, so, I took a chance. These are wonderful! They are nice and large, with good firm shells. The shells are a bit thicker than what I have been getting, but the thicker shells help to keep the inside chestnuts moist. They do take a little more effort to score - as my photo shows, I might need a bit more practice. The photo is less than half the package, I will roast most of the rest of them New Year's Day, and hold out a few to add raw to salads, to start the New Year Right. I will be ordering these again 😁👍

Bought 2 @ 4 pounds. Yea $32 is expensive but from Italy…I went for it! Wow! In 4 lbs only one bad nut. I cook in Air Fryer, cut small X in top of each shell, cook at 350° for 25 minutes without turning, raise temp to 400° for five minutes, remove, place on the counter, with the palm of your hand wack somewhat gently on the shell, and peeling is a breeze! Love them, may buy another 2lb lot for family Christmas dinner treat; however, these seem to be an acquired taste for many, be prepared if some can’t figure out the big deal—more for me!

I've always had chestnuts growing up and unfortunately this are not fresh, I wasn't able to eat more than two out of the entire bag. Also you can't return this item which I didn't notice that when I purchased. I appreciate the fast response from them but they couldn't help me because I waited one month after purchase.

Missed our experience enjoying these in Europe during the winter so we ordered these.They arrived earlier than stated, fresh as can be and they roasted just like we remembered.Not a single bad issue. Order these chestnuts while you are blessed to as the grocery stores rarely carry them.These arrived slightly chilled, texture perfect and price was very reasonable.Big surprise when they arrived the day after Christmas instead of January. Nothing but good here!

I bought these for my dad as part of his Christmas gift and he has not stopped talking about how wonderful and fresh they are! He said that they are easy to roast and very easy to peel! I will be buying him another set shortly!
