Ankle Stability Brace
I was recommended this brace by my podiatrist. I have a longitudinal tear in my longus tendon. This brace gives me lateral stability. My pain has definitely decreased. Hopefully I won’t need surgery. The brace won’t heal the tendon, but from the lateral stability the brace gives me it will decrease the swelling and possibly the tendon will stop catching in the tendon canal. Therefore less irritation and edema. I recommend the brace if foot/ankle stability is needed.

Would it have killed you guys to include instructions?
I will be in an immobilizing pneumatic air CAM immobilizing walking boot for anywhere from 3 months to 9 months, fingers are crossed not longer than that. I can't put any weight on my left foot or ankle, but I also can't sleep in the boot, and despite my searches I can't find a waterproof shower cover that fits over the diagonal circumference of the heel and ankle. That's where this brace comes in, which took me forever to find as I needed something with hard splints on the sides where my tibia and fibula are, cross straps in the front for my torn ATFL, an open heel for a newly discovered issue I had called "os trigonum syndrome" which only showed up after my grade 3 ankle sprain with other complications, and back closures that would stretch to fit due to the massive amount of swelling, regardless of the front velcro strap, that wouldn't put pressure on things like my peroneal nerve and others that have been causing paresthesias from my toes to my leg. Also it needed to go further down my foot than many other ankle braces do as I had dislocated all my toes. While I can't put even slight pressure on my foot/ankle in this like I can with my boot, it is comfortable enough to sleep in, and slim enough to fit inside the shower cover for walking boots and casts which was, as I learned the hard way, in no way made to fit over actual orthopedic walking boots - unless maybe they are pediatric walking boots? Even that though I find hard to believe. So far the quality is great, and it is holding up quite well. I learned the hard way after a couple of days that I need to wear a thin work-style cotton-sock underneath or else it itches a bit. The support is great for what it is - I mean it's not the same level as an immobilizer or cast and you can bend and flex in it so if you have a break or multiple grade 3 sprains in the ankle, etc. you can't walk on it or anything. However, it does feel like the kind of brace you can graduate to after being fully immobilized, or if you have a much lighter sprain or tend to roll your ankles and just want the stability after the fact if you can't have surgery, or play sports. If it holds up long enough I would say it is worth the money. The only real issue with it is that it literally came with ZERO instructions on how to put it on. There is also no website showing how to put it on. No videos on Amazon. Even though mine was labeled properly as for the size and and being for the left ankle, the velcro strap on top was wrapped the wrong way and threaded for a right ankle so it literally took me 3 days to figure out why I couldn't get it to fit right. Honestly I don't think left or right likely matters, it just depends how the top velcro strap is threaded through all the bits. This thing has a LOT of straps, and you have to figure out which order to do them up in and where they all go and what strap threads this way or that way and through which slot in front or back first. Aside from including instructions, it would have been great if there had been a way, once you figured out how to get it to fit you perfectly with every stabilizer and strap in the right spot, if there had been a simple single-step way to take it off and put it back on again later that was also painless and didn't involve any velcro to make things more confusing. I dunno, maybe an elastic cinch with toggles or something? Anything really other than going through so many different bits of velcro, elastic, hardware, etc. 2-4 times a day.

Love it!
I love these. I bought them for my hypermobility. They are comfortable, hardly know I am wearing them. Bit tricky to put on the first time but then it is easy. Fits well. Seems like it would be long lasting. I will try to come back in a year. So far, again, love it.

Not for me
Didn’t fit well and not enough support for torn tendon.

Works great. Easy to put on.
Happy with this brace. My wife's ankle is pretty much floppy. This has helped give her ankle some stability and allowed her to stand on it. In my opinion it is a good product. Pretty easy to put on once you know how to. I reccomend this.

an OK ankle support, but requires work to get it just right
This is OK, but you have to be careful when wrapping your ankle,, the stretch foam, has to be just right, and you have to be mindful, of where the Velcro, is placed, otherwise the Velcro will rub, and cause blisters, also you have to position the side stabilizers just right, or they will feel funny

Very supportive brace. Excellent customer service
I'm updating a review of a previous order. The customer service of this company was excellent. They solved the problem within a few days. I had a new brace. It's an excellent product. Seems to have really good support.

Good value
This is a well-thought out neoprene shell, generic support ankle brace that provides an additionally useful varus/vagus strap to apply either direction horizontal rotational support after injury or surgery. It also works well post surgery to aid in P.T. during the “Three-Month Post-Operative Adaptation Phase” of foot surgery. I found it initially somewhat confusing to wear but once I got the Velcro untangled and the shell around my heel, the straps became obvious. I also found the aluminum stiffeners useful in applying varus-correcting rotational force to my foot and lower ankle joint.
