Goof up during the Freedom Sale 😯 !
This artificial baby banana plant is of the exact dimensions as mentioned, like seen in the pictures above, when fitted within the provided pot with a self added filler of choice; an all together height around 80 cms. However, the plant itself is near 60 to 70 cms, and the simplistic black cylindrical unique plastic pot it came with is also quite user friendly for it has holes at the bottom to be used for a living plant, just in case to implement otherwise. It is my third purchase from VRB Dec for this storefront has got a versatile range of home decor products. Also this DIY faux plant, that arrived in time, once assembled, it spreads out quite graciously and the natural green stems are bendable yet firm with metal wires implanted within. The best part is the easy to install, most natural looking leaves that are designed so intricately to look real, which are of the truest shade of a green banana leaf! Also the yellowed edges over the sides with neat cuts to mimic natural leaf tears, adds an extra realistic dimension to these vibrant 8 inchers of 12 nicely patterned evergreens. Plus, they are soft to feel, layered with a gloss just enough to appear authentic. But some keep falling when accidentally brushed. So I had to use some resin glue to fix them back as the locking system isn't that tight. Though, to make it come across like an actual banana plant, I personalized it with some additional craftwork, which in turn also helped me in increasing its towering length to twice its original size. I used a different soil filled larger pot and to articulate it, what I needed were some inner-supportive-cardboard rolls of used kitchen towels and incense sticks in order to create an elongated staff with branches, thus replicating a living banana tree accessorized with my mom's saved Sun dried sweetcorn cob coverings; as we can see the final setup in the photo attached along. It also feels nice to do some simple recycling. Keeping aside the technical stuff, I placed an order for this lifelike evergreen on Ganesh Jayanti, the night before Goddess Saraswati's Vasant Panchami of celebrating the Springtime welcoming Imbolc, the ever first Solar Sabbath of the Pagan Wheel. And it arrived on His marked Tuesday afternoon of Rathh Saptami honouring our Sun God, a day that also celebrated the annual birthday of Surya's river daughter Tapti, called the Narmadá Jayanti, which I chose to perform my long awaited Konkani celebration of 'haldi kumkum'. Now, branches of a living banana tree are believed to be highly auspicious for all Vedic ritualistic purposes. So I'm pleased and grateful at this ritualising juncture to receive a 'vighara' image of it, a 'pratimá' precisely, as in an effigy of something walked-in-home representing a Godly association to work with right in between the subtle festivities of this Sanskrit Magh month's Gupt Navrátri; which is today culminating. Besides, by creating this review last night while admiring this promising experience at its final resting place across my Black Ganesha's Altar of Dakkshin (South), to also intervene with Má Durgá's fragrant cooking of Navami, I heartedly consider this for me and my residence, a blessing delivered from Amazon's home~shopping~team. However for my second delivery of another varient during the Freedom Sale, a completely different product was sent (festival lights) packaged in a very small envelope which was rejected on the spot itself! So deducting 2 stars.
