As someone new to the topic, I appreciated how the book covered the history of artificial intelligence, its applications across various industries, and important topics like privacy concerns. The writing was clear and accessible, which made it an enjoyable and easy read. I highly recommend this book to anyone curious about how AI works and its growing impact on our lives.

If you want to learn about AI this is the book to read. I’m older (a lot older) and AI is explained in such a way that I can make sense of it all. Of course you have to have an open mind and curiosity about it. If you’ve kept up with technology you will love this book.Thank you Gloria Lembo.

If you’re wondering about AI this book explains it in a simple, easy to digest waystarting with the section on understanding the fundamentals of AI.I have to admit that I was more than a little bit surprised to find out thatAI is already being used in industries like healthcare, finance, and entertainment. But there was a time when cell phones were a rare oddity, and now they’re indispensable.

It's a book that mostly serves as an introduction to AI and Technology in general and how it can change everyday life. It gives a good general overview on how it has applications in different areas like healthcare, education, security, manufacturing and social media. It also further explains well the various ways in which we are exposed to personalized, and regional content, and the pitfalls of living in a bubble. In addition it also explains related technologies like blockchain, and quantum computing. The book also details ethical issues which may arise with having private data of individuals, as well of militaries using AI for warfare.It gives a good bird's eye view on the technology and serves as a good guide for those who with little knowledge of AI or technology. It's a bit more general and I would have liked a deeper dive into a specific technology but that is my personal view. Also I feel the recommendation of the author to trust in websites like TechCrunch, Wired and MIT Technology Review is an individual opinion.

No matter how you currently feel about AI, it's here to stay and will shape our future. As such, it's important to educate ourselves so that we not only remain in the driver's seat, but can utilize AI to our best advantage as it gets more embedded into our daily lives.I was looking for a book that would give me a solid foundation of what AI is, it's current uses, it's future uses, and how I could actually use it personally, and "The Complete Beginner's Guide to AI" did not disappoint!I really loved this book! It was easy to read, yet comprehensive. It included every single topic about AI that I've wondered about and gave a really good foundational overview. The book starts with the different levels of AI and terms, then moves to examples of how we use AI in our everyday life today, then moved on to the areas of life that AI is impacting in a greater way, and then moved on to the future, ethics, responsible AI education, etc.I particularly loved the topics of AI in farming practices, environmental practices, creative sectors, financial sectors and educational sectors. I also deeply appreciated the fact that the book went into the ethics of AI and how we should use it responsibly as we educate future generations, etc.Overall, I think this book is an incredible resource to help cut through the white noise and fear of what AI is, and helps us to better understand how we can use a technology that is definitely going to become more a part of our daily lives, now and in the future.I'd recommend this book to everyone as a must read!

I found this book to be an engrossing and thorough review of the state of AI today. It provides a comprehensive treatment of all facets of AI that we encounter daily. It is not “techie” in any measure, but it provides enough of a background on the width and pace of technical advancements to make you stop and think.It made me realize how AI has slowly but surely inserted itself into almost every aspect of our lives. It wasn’t one giant advancement but a host of improvements that over the past ten years has become part of almost every application we use.Ms. Lembo’s outlook is not a promise of clear, blue skies; she discusses some of the pitfalls we must look out for. My view of the future is more pessimistic than hers. I remember thinking that having widespread Internet access would be good for everyone, but we have managed to not only generate excellent, useful applications, but also create toxic social media platforms that are dividing rather than uniting us. I hope her view of the future is the one we see.

A good short but to the point read, covering ai functionality, algorithms, ai processes and commonly used ai software.

Even for a beginner, this book does not add much value. It just explains some terms related to AI. Since it is just verbiage, at times it becomes quite boring to read. I didn't like the section by section presentation either. I am surprised at the glowing reviews. Most must be from completely non technical readers.
