What should the correct temperature for a normal fridge be?

If you check online the general feeling is that it should be around 2 to 4c. Bacteria starts to grow at temps above 4.5c so a fridge should always be below that temp.

Should the fridge reading be in the red area of the dial (right hand side)

No, the fridge reading should be on the small green area on the right hand side. The fridge temperature should be between 1 to 5 C. If the reading is on the red area it means your fridge is not cold enough.

What is the accuracy of this thermometer? i.e., + or - how many, or what fraction of a degree, (C, or F)?

I bought a few thermometers to make sure of their accuracy and they were all within half a degree of each other including this one.
