excellent audiophile-grade sound and fine design at a still reasonable price
This device connects a modern smartphone easily via bluetooth to a stereo set so you combine the convenience of the smartphone with a high quality music playback at the stereo set. Unlike most rather reasonably priced bluetooth adapters this one employs a separate digital-analogue-converter-chip to enable audiophile grade sound output at the analog RCA jacks. I believe that the well- and natural-sounding Texas Instruments (former Burr Brown) PCM5102A is the key to the nice sound quality of this device: proper bass, fine treble and natural ambience of the music which are unlikely to be found in most bluetooth adapters are included here. I doubt that Arcam's or Audioengine*s offers (the latter probably influenced the optical appearance of this deivice) at more than twice the price have real sonic advantages and believe that the Texas Instruments DAC chip is the best choice in this price spectrum. If you want more, this adapter - unlike its more expensive siblings - offers optical and electrical digital output so one can make use of a separate DAC box or connect to the digital input of an AV-Receiver (& all outputs work at the same time). Apart fromt the good sound and the fine looks of its metal box which has better shielding effects than cheap plastic cases, this adapter is also easy to use and works at an extensive range (but don't expect too much from bluetooth which was made for short distances). It supports modern bluetooth 5.0 and the sound-conserving Apt-X/AAC transmission standard which evades re-encoding already compressend music. I do not know of any more complete bluetooth adapter. Considering its nice sound which can hardly be distinguished from an uncompressed CD I believe this is as much as is possible within the bandwith-limited bluetooth standard. You definitely hear the difference towards an adapter for half the price, but I doubt that you regret anything if you compare this product to others at more than twice its price!

Great little gadget for my existing setup
I am getting this BT receiver to add “modern” convenience to my existing sound systems. I have newer BT speakers such as Sony XB7, LG FH6 and a few JBL Flips. They are so easy and convenient, we rarely use my old sound system anymore. These BT speakers sound good, but not as good as my good old pals. The original BLT-2 I received had problem with hissing when music plays. Emailed seller and worked with their tech support. They quickly sent me a replacement. This device connects quickly and easily. It is always on standby just like my Sony and LG Bluetooth speakers. That means you can wake it up by pairing it with your phone. BLT comes with a DAC and it sounds good. Better than the BT chip used in Sony and LG. There are no startup POPs or Clicks when connecting and there is no audible floor noise. Another bonus is that the DAC retains Left/Right stereo channels. I did the following A/B test with my 3.5mm cable against the BLT-2. Source is Galaxy S7, using PowerAmp, playing 24bits 48khz MP3 files. BLT with TDK Boombox BLT to tube-amp to AGK 240 headphone BLT to Sony AV receiver to 7.1 speakers BLT to Mackie ProFX12 mixer to KRK active monitor speakers BLT to Crown XLI 1500 amp to two 12” PA speakers They all sound as good as wired with no extra noise. Only thing I noticed is that the volume is not as loud as going thru 3.5mm cable. I am not sure if it has to do with the output voltage of the BLT. Maybe using a different USB power plug will make a difference? Have not try that yet. I am using an old left over LGphone power plug that is rated 5v DC 0.6A. Another thing to consider before buying this BLT or any Bluetooth receiver is that there is going to be a lag. That means you can’t use this for mixing or beatmatching. But for movie and music listening, it will be fine. This BLT actual has the least lag compare to other BT speakers I owned. Sony XB7 has the worse lag. LG’s is a little better but still noticeable. JBL is better than the LG. This BLT beats them all with the APTX. I have no complaint for this receiver itself for sound quality and range. I am happy that I have Bluetooth capability now with my old system. I was going to take a star off because of the accessories it came with. RCA cable it came with is too loose, the USB cable is too short. I end up using my own cables. However, Customer Service was great and responded promptly.

Works well, great for smaller or secondary systems.
Got this to use at the lake. Wanted a way to play the small mp3 player through the radio/cd player there. Well I tested it here with my computer speakers and have to say it works well. Paired with the MP3 player with no Bluetooth issues. The sound quality is very good and at this price point it is a very good value. Its small size is a plus as it will take up very little space when traveling back and forth between here and the lake. The cables included, are of mediocre quality. You might want to get better quality audio cables for any permanent installation you might use it for. The USB cable provided for charging is included, however there is no USB power supply included. Keep this in mind when purchasing. All in all unless you have a very high resolution system this is highly recommended. For those who do, I would suggest you spend the extra to get that 10 percent extra past the point of diminishing returns.

The inbuilt dac is great sounding and makes for flexible pairing into a good separates system. The optical out is a bonus and gives you a choice of decoding - in my case a Cambridge audio amp. Sometimes Dento’s burr brown dac is best , others the Wolfson in the Cambridge , all very subjective but the dento sounds “fun” and has pace and detail. (Tested with Spotify)

I had my reservations on the quality of bluetooth audio till I discovered this device. Connectivity was a breeze. I use this mainly to stream lossless internet radio stations and services. I am using the RCA outs (internal DAC) to a Schiit Jotunheim connected to Genelec monitors from an iPad. The sound quality is extremely satisfying, considering iOS does not support the Aptx Bluetooth protocol supported by this device. I will update this review once I have use the optical out to an external DAC. Highly recommended for the price, features, sound quality and the small footprint.

Having an amplifier that is high end but pre Bluetooth I needed a device to easily get my music thru the system I have with ease and also inexpensive. The BluDento is perfect for this, further after about 18 months it, for some reason, ceased to function, BluDento replaced the unit after I contacted them and were extremely helpful, their customer service was exemplary.
