OK for CenturyLink bonded DSL
First off, if I wasn't stuck with CenturyLink's bonded DSL service I would have purchased another, better router. Now, onto the review.Although this router is not a CenturyLink branded router it does work with CL bonded DSL. I'm stuck with CL's 25Mbs service. This router replaced an Actiontec c1900 that died during a thunderstorm. To make the Zyxel work with my service I had to change the VPI/VCI settings. I callled CL tech support to get the correct numbers but I could have just gone through a trial and error process to get the correct settings. The WI/FI range is decent. However, my kids, playing Fortnite on our PS4, noticed the Zyxel was laggy compared to the old Actiontec router. After some online testing, I found it to be afflicted with massive buffer bloat. I set up a a very basic QoS rule to alleviate the problem. Now, the buffer bloat is gone but the WI/FI is still a bit laggy. The WI/FI also stutters while streaming HBO and Netflix more than the Actiontec. Wire connections don't have this problem. This is the first router I've owned that did not have externally mounted antennae. The lack of a strong array of external antennae may be part of the problem.

Stay away, do not buy, it seems that ...EDIT 12/07/17 RESOLVED
Stay away, do not buy, it seems that most of these are faulty, lines keep dropping, won't stay connected. False Advertising, DOES NOT WORK WITH CENTURYLINK. I am returning mine ASAP.EDIT - 12/07/17 THIS WORKS WITH CENTURYLINK RESOLVEDSo I honestly can't believe how untrained centurylink technicians and customer service agents are, they hire anyone with the IQ of -1. My internet kept dropping constantly, it never stayed solid green. My issue was resolved by updating the firmware TWICE, it did not work the first time. The big issue here is that the router needs internet to download the firmware first, so I thought I was screwed, but then luckily I already had a working router, my old one, I used my old one to download the firmware, then switch it to this router then installed it, TWICE, then BAM! IT WORKED! My plan is 80 download and 10 upload, got a good solid 79 download and 13! upload speeds. YOU ARE SCREWED IF YOU CANT FIND A WAY TO GET THAT FIRMWARE UPDATE FIRST.

Great Router!
Bought this to replace our old router. Easy to install, better price than our local computer outlet & best of all; works just as it should. Would definitely recommend!

Great company!
I got the modem quickly and very well packed. Unfortunately, century link told me to get this one but it would not work (and neither did century link). I contacted the company right away and they accepted my return and refunded me right away. I will definitely use them again!

Grey Market Unit?
I bought this unit from Amazon in May 2018, at which time it was listed as "ZyXEL VMG4825 CENTURYLINK C2100Z Wireless Router". It is still for sale today as a VMG4825 and separately as a C2100Z. After all this time I was surprised that I had not received any notice(s) of firmware updates, so I checked with ZyXEL and they said I had the latest firmware. Strange, since most other types of modems have had updates in this period due to evolving security threats. I checked with CenturyLink and they said the unit has to use ZyXEL FW, not the CL version. When I again checked with ZyXEL they said that this must be a 3rd party resale unit, but the unit is intended only for sale to ISPs, not direct to consumers. I am confused. Meanwhile, Cl has had FW updates for the C2100Z in the past year but I am advised by ZyXEL that the CL FW is only to be installed on units sold by CL. So I guess I will have to take my chances or get a new modem that I can verify can use the CL firmware. Buyer beware!

Already ordered one for my Aunt. Great buy!
It had a dent on it but it works great! I am a network technician so for me it was an easy setup. The centurylink technical support team are working from information on their comp. Screen. I had to support them. Their are good Techs. Though changed to a female tech. She was great. Be patient.

Wish we could have used it!
Was unable to get this Router to work but through no fault of the manufacturer. Appears that CenturyLink has proprietary software which prevented us from being able to link the router to CenturyLink. Sorry ZyXel. A friend of ours has one so we know it works well. Just didn't work for us.
