This tool is such a time saver, I wish I'd had one years ago. The tool's jaws are a little less than 1/2" wide and are decently long to get between welded wire mesh for building fish and blue crap traps and small livestock cages you might use on the farm such as for rabbits, chickens and ducks. This tool has so many applications for agricultural use. I bet I've spent a million hours cutting and twisting wire with lineman's pliers or using hog rings and the hog ring tools. You can easily install thousands of rings in a day, you will run out of pre-cut materials to join very quickly. I have a few of these now with different sized rails and dies. Be sure to leave a nice mist of oil on the tool, keep the jaws and dies clean of debris and make sure you've got an inline tool oiler to keep the thing running day after day. These tools are cheap at twice the price. This one is ~$200 shipped.

A good deal for the price. I've had a stanley model for about 8 years that cost three times what this one did. Spits occasional rings. The plastic grip seems to move a bit and has to be worked back in place. Not a big deal but for something brand new you wouldn't think that would be a problem.
